PROPOSED ADMINISTRATIVE BUILDING Brief Summary: Location : UNIVERSITY OF HYDERABAD, GACCHIBOWLI Built –Up Area : 9026.15 Sq.M Proposed No. Of Floor : G+3 FLOORs Project Cost : 45 Crores Current Status : Construction in Progress UNIVERSITY OF HYDERABAD

ADMINISTRATIVE BUILDING Salient features (Brief write-up of the project explaining the concept of the design): The proposed new administrative building for the University of Hyderabad is a G+3 structure with a total built-up area of 9026 square meters. The building is divided into two blocks, namely the North Block and the South Orientation: The decision to align the longer axis of the building in the East-West direction showcases a meticulous consideration of climatology principles . This orientation effectively minimizes direct heat gain from the intense sunlight, ensuring improved thermal comfort and reduced reliance on excessive cooling measures. Space Frame: The incorporation of a space frame at the terrace floor level, connecting the North and South blocks, serves multiple purposes. Firstly, it adds a touch of modern architectural elegance to the building, lending it a visually striking appearance . Additionally, it creates a leisure sitting area in the open space between the blocks, offering occupants a pleasant environment for relaxation and informal gatherings . Furthermore, the space frame provides shade and enclosure , shielding the area from direct sunlight and fostering a comfortable microclimate. Flying Buttress: The inclusion of flying buttresses in the building's design imparts a sense of grandeur and architectural vision . Inspired by historical buildings, these structural elements offer both functional support and aesthetic appeal . Besides providing additional stability to the building, they create a captivating visual impact , bestowing a timeless elegance upon the overall design. Mirror Pool: The presence of a mirror pool on the front (south) and east side of the building adds a captivating and immersive element to the lush campus environment. With its significant width and less depth, the mirror pool creates a captivating illusion of water surrounding the building . This design feature enhances the aesthetic appeal of the structure and impregnates the surroundings with tranquility and serenity . The reflection of the building in the mirror pool beautifully complements the soaring flying buttresses , further elevating the architectural composition. Wave Front Facade: Departing from the conventional box-like forms typically found in government buildings, our design introduces a wave front facade. This architectural choice breaks free from traditional norms, granting the building a distinct appearance. The wave-like pattern establishes a visually dynamic and captivating facade , exuding an ultra-modern and futuristic vibe . This design element helps the administrative building stand out as a symbol of progress and innovation. In summary, administrative building design for the University of Hyderabad showcases meticulous attention to climatology principles, modern architectural elements, and sustainable design practices . The combination of the orientation, space frame, flying buttress, mirror pool, wave front facade, and glazing creates a visually stunning and functional building that harmonizes effortlessly with its surroundings. It provides a comfortable and inspiring environment for occupants, while serving as a symbol of architectural excellence and innovation.
