Identifying geospatial challenges and planning solutions
Producing/collecting, processing, analysing, and visualising geospatial
data
Geospatial service hosting and operation
●We offer a selection of training courses on open-source geospatial software: from the
basics of geospatial information to fluent fundamental use and more advanced
usage.
●People from 100+ organisations have participated on our courses
●Annually, we train approximately 400 new geospatial experts and conduct dozens of
different courses and workshops.

Map Service with Open Data
●Implemented for the Tampere region, but
expandable to all of Finland
●Primarily uses open data: LIPAS, OpenStreetMap,
NLS, Finnish Heritage Agency, Digitransit
●MapLibre / PostGIS / AWS
●Development provided by Ekokumppanit Oy

Open Tool for Accessibility
●Calculates distances between home and
school globally
●Uses OpenStreetMap as primary data source
●Developed in collaboration with IIEP-UNESCO
●Supports educational planning and
accessibility analysis

Data Pipelines for
Planning
●Automated service data registry creation
●Integrates data from multiple sources
●Utilizes OpenStreetMap and official data
(DVV)
●Powered by PostGIS and GeoServer
technologies
QGIS Development & Plugins
●Gispo actively develops QGIS core features
and plugins
●We create custom QGIS plugins for various
needs.
●Many of our plugins are officially listed and
supported.
●Examples include Trajectories and NLS
GeoPackage Downloader, EIS-tools (mineral
prospectivity mapping for geologists).
QField for Fieldwork
●QField is QGIS's convenient mobile version for field
data collection
●Projects with QField:
○Helping archeological site inventory in the field
○NLS-FI mapping: Gispo develops QField
functionalities with OpenGIS.ch
○Maintenance of traffic control device
information
○Nature conservation sites and mapping of
invasive species
Rainy Season
Optimization
●IIEP-UNESCO wanted to optimize school
calendars based on weather data
●Utilize Google Earth Engine for data
acquisition
●QGIS plugin facilitates creation of optimized
calendars
●Aids in school year planning around heavy
rainfall days
Rwanda FOSS4G training with GTK
●Training on open-source geospatial software solutions for mineral
register production was organized for Rwanda's mining, oil, and gas
authority (RMB) in collaboration with GTK.
●Customised QGIS, GeoServer, and PostGIS training sessions.
