SITCOE YADRAC Dial Indicator By- Dr. Mohd Aslam #Dial Gauge
BASIC PARTS NAME L.C.=1/100 MM
Working
Finding the Least Count: The least count is the smallest increment the dial indicator can measure, which is usually marked on the dial itself (e.g., 0.001 inch or 0.01 mm). Calculating the Measurement: Step 1: Find the Zero Point: Ensure the dial indicator is set to zero before starting your measurement. Step 2: Take the Reading: Note the number of graduations the pointer moves from the zero point. Step 3: Multiply by Least Count: Multiply the number of graduations by the least count to get the measurement. Example: If the pointer moves 30 graduations and the least count is 0.001 inch, the measurement is 30 x 0.001 = 0.030 inches.
ADD COMPANY NAME Application
1. Measuring Small Linear Displacements Used to measure small movements or deformations in components with high accuracy. 2. Checking Surface Flatness Helps check if a surface is perfectly flat by detecting height variations. 3. Measuring Roundness & Runout Radial Runout : Measures deviations in rotating parts (e.g., shafts, gears). Axial Runout : Ensures perpendicularity of a rotating surface. 4. Aligning Machine Parts Used in machine setups to ensure components are properly aligned. 5. Measuring Thickness Variation Used to check the thickness consistency of thin materials like metal sheets. 6. Checking Gear Backlash Measures the gap between meshing gears for quality control. 7. Inspecting Parallelism & Perpendicularity Ensures that two surfaces are parallel or perpendicular in precision machining. 8. Deflection Testing in Materials Measures bending or deflection in beams and structures under load. Application
