Difference between Batch and Wave Transfers in Odoo 17

In a business firm inventory management is very important. And it will help to run the business very smoothly. Batch transfer and wave transfer are 2 important features associated with the inventory module. This slide will show the difference between batch and wave transfers in odoo 17.

Batch transfer and wave transfer are 2 important features associated with the inventory module. This slide will show the difference between batch and wave transfers in odoo 17.

3. Enterprise Batch transfer Batch transfer will help to group the operations and can assign them to a person. For enabling batch transfer option goto inventory Configuration -> Settings and enable Batch Transfers under Operations.

5. Enterprise We can access the batch transfer option from the Operations menu. And can create new batch transfers from there.

6. Enterprise When creating new batch transfer give the details such as: Responsible : Person in charge for the transfer. Operation Type : The related operation type of the transfer. Scheduled date : The scheduled date for the transfer. Company : Related company. Transfers : By clicking on the Add a line option, add the transfers.

8. Enterprise When clicking on the Add a line option will open a transfers page. From there we can select transfers in different stat e s.

10. Enterprise When confirming the batch transfer the state will change to In Progress .

11. Enterprise Then check the availability of products and validate the batch transfer. Then all transfers will change to done state.

13. Enterprise We can also select different transfers like deliveries or receipts. And goto Actions then select Add to batch option.

14. Enterprise When clicking on Add to batch option will open a popup. We can add the transfers to an existing batch or a new batch. Give the person responsible for the transfer. If we enable the option Draft, then create the batch in draft status. Confirm the transfer by clicking the Confirm button.

16. Enterprise Wave transfer Wave transfers will also help to group different operations. Compared to batch transfer we can’t add transfers of different status into a wave. For enabling wave transfer option goto inventory Configuration -> Settings and enable Wave Transfers under Operations.

18. Enterprise First take any of the operations like receipts or deliveries and select the transfers in the same status.

19. Enterprise Then goto Actions and select the option Add to wave

20. Enterprise When clicking on Add to wave option will open a popup. We can add the transfers to an existing wave or a new wave. Give the person responsible for the transfer. Confirm the transfer by clicking the Confirm button.

21. Enterprise After confirming the wave transfer, it will ask again to add the operations. From there we can select the operations to the wave and click on the button Add to Wave .

22. Enterprise Then goto the menu Operations -> Wave Transfers then we can see all created wave transfers.

23. Enterprise When opening a wave transfer we can validate the transfer by clicking the button Validate .

24. Enterprise After validating the wave transfer all corresponding transfers goto done state.
