Different Face Shapes Need Different Kinds Of Makeup
Oval Shape
Oval face shape is defined by the softly curved lines around the jaw and forehead. The best part about the oval face shape is the absence of any hard or sharp features in the face. All the features of the face i.e. the forehead, cheekbones and chin are equally proportionate.
The following are the basic features of the oval shape of the face: Curved Jawline The oval shape of the face has a slightly curved jawline with little roundness. Although their jawline is neither sharp nor pointed as in case of the square or rectangular face shape. The rounded jawline gives softness to the face. Broad forehead The wide hairline and broad forehead is the distinguishing factor of the oval face shape. Moreover, the forehead appears a little wider than the chin forming the resemblance to the shape of an egg. High cheekbones In case of oval face shape, the person has a little highly placed cheekbones which carry the roundness as well. There are no pointers or harsh lines of the cheeks. Rounded Chin The chin area in case of the people with the oval shape of the face is round and not pointed and the face is slightly longer than its width.
Oval Face Ideal face shape to try almost every type of makeup. However, it is best to draw emphasis either on your lips or eyes, but never on both. EYES: • Try to play with your eyes. • Give it a smokey look or just apply soft colors such as pale pink, mint green or sky blue. • Apply kohl in the lower lid and eyeliner on the upper lid for a defined look. • With that, apply volumising mascara on the lashes for the final touch. LIPS: • Avoid using too bright colors on your lips. • Opt for soft colors like rose or bold colors like cherry on the lips. • Also, always line your lips before you apply the lip color, this would add more prominence to your lips. CHEEKS: • Since you have high cheekbones, so avoid too much blush. • If you want to cut the length of your face then apply foundation in one shade darker than your natural skin color. • Also use rosy or bronzy- coloured blush in an upsweep motion.
Square Face
Square Shape Forehead and jawline are nearly the same width. You also have a strong jawline and wide cheekbones, which gives your face an angular, square appearance. Add bronzer or blush to your jawline to soften the edges. For square or rectangle shapes, focus blush on the apple of the cheek and softly blend upward. You can also take any residual blush on the brush and sweep around your temples for a soft rounding effect. EYES: • Use a dark eyeshadow from the inner corner of your eyes to the outer edge. • Go for smokey effect, but with a certain level of softness. • Use dark mascara to give your face an instant lift.
Square Shape LIPS: • Use bold and bright lip colors with high shine gloss to focus away from your jawline. • Use a lip pencil in the same shade. • Crimson hues, candy pink and intense plum are some options for you . CHEEKS: • To draw attention away from the jaw, apply highlighter on the chin, cheekbones and center of the forehead. • Subtle blush colors are best for you. • Use pink, peach blush or plum shades on the apple of your cheek in circular motion.
Round Face
Round Shape
Round Shape EYES: • Use sheer color from the eyelid to the brow bone. • It is best to use softly smudged eyeliner for lining your eyes. • Apply darker shade of eyeshadow in the outer corners of the eyes, and lighter shade towards the inner part. • Use lash-lengthening mascara for your eyelashes. LIPS: • Go for soft sheen lip gloss or creamy lipstick for your lips. • People with lighter complexion can pick light pink and peach color. • While those with darker complexion, can go for luscious nudes and sheer plums. CHEEKS: • Apply darker foundation in the hollow of your cheeks. • Do not apply blush on the apples of your cheeks in a circular motion. • Start from the pupils or from under your cheekbones to get a balance. • Apply an highlighting blush in a peachy pink shade after your regular shade. • Use it in sweeping motion on the top of your cheekbone.
Heart Shaped Face
Heart Shape Heart Shape face is broad at the forehead and cheeks, and if you have a pointed, smaller chin then you have a heart-shaped face. The makeup has to be applied in such a way that it balances the forehead and the chin. EYES: • You can opt for lighter shades in eyeshadow. • But, when it comes to eyeliners always go for dark colors like black, dark brown or some navy colors. • Apply the eyeliner and eyeshadow till the lash line, not beyond that. • Apply lash-lengthening mascara for more defined and wide-eyed look . LIPS: • Ladies, pick any bright color like red or a pinkish-red shade for your lips. • You can avoid lip liners. • Classic red is the best shade for heart shaped faces. • This would downplay the razor-sharp chin . CHEEKS • Opt for neutral mantle blush, or pink cream blush to balance the high cheekbones. • Apply blush slightly lower than your cheekbones and in an upwards vertical sweep.
