and social aspect.
C. Form interest on the
processes involved in

A. Recall
Today's lesson is about the significance of cultural,
social, political and economic symbols and practices. We
previously learned about the cultural relativism and its
importance in cultural understanding.
B. Motivation (Engage)
The teacher will explain to the students that the
purpose of this lesson is to understand the significance of
cultural, social, political, and economic symbols and
practices in human adaptation and the importance of
artifacts in relation to cultural and social aspects.
Also, develop the student's interest in the processes
involved in cultural and socio-political evolutions.
C. Discussion (Explore)
The teacher will define the culture, its role in human
adaptation, and how it influences society. Culture can be
defined as the shared beliefs, values, customs, behaviors,
and artifacts that characterize a group or society.
Culture plays a crucial role in human
adaptation by providing a means for people
to meet their basic needs and cope with
environmental challenges.
Culture influences society in a variety of
ways, including shaping social norms,
influencing political systems, and affecting
economic practices.
Cultural practices can also influence
individual behavior, attitudes, and beliefs,

as well as shaping group identity and social
cohesion.
Culture can create both similarities and
differences between different societies, as
people adapt to their unique environmental
and social circumstances.
The transmission of culture from generation
to generation helps to maintain social
continuity and promote cultural survival.
Cultural diversity can be a source of both
enrichment and conflict, as people navigate
the challenges of interacting with those who
have different cultural backgrounds and
beliefs.
Explain how social, political, and economic
symbols and practices have evolved and influenced
societies. Social, political, and economic symbols and
practices are key elements of culture that have evolved
over time and have had a profound influence on societies.
Here are some examples of how these symbols and
practices have evolved and influenced societies:
Social symbols and practices: Social
symbols and practices include things like
language, religion, family structures, and
social norms. These elements of culture
have evolved over time in response to
changing social and environmental
conditions. For example, family structures

have evolved from extended families to
nuclear families in many societies,
reflecting changes in social and economic
conditions. Social norms also change over
time, reflecting changes in values and
beliefs within a society. For example, the
acceptance of same-sex relationships is a
relatively recent development in many
societies, reflecting changing attitudes
towards gender and sexuality.
Political symbols and practices: Political
symbols and practices include things like
laws, government structures, and political
ideologies. These elements of culture have
evolved over time in response to changing
political and social conditions. For example,
the evolution of democracy in many
societies reflects a shift towards greater
political participation and accountability.
Political ideologies, such as communism or
liberalism, have also evolved over time and
have had a profound influence on the way
societies are organized and governed.
Economic symbols and practices: Economic
symbols and practices include things like
money, trade, and economic systems. These
elements of culture have also evolved over
time in response to changing economic

conditions. Trade has also played a key role
in shaping economic practices and has been
a driving force behind globalization and the
expansion of international trade.

analysis to the class.
Materials:
A list of cultural artifacts, symbols, and
practices for students to choose from Paper, pen,
and markers for note-taking and presentation
Instructions:
1.Begin by introducing the concept of cultural
artifacts, symbols, and practices, and their
significance in shaping cultures and societies.

3.Ask students to research their chosen artifact,
symbol, or practice and analyze its significance.
They should consider questions such as:

artifact, symbol, or practice?
What does it represent or symbolize
within the culture or society?
How has it evolved over time?
What is its significance in shaping
cultural identity or social, political, or
economic systems?
4. Once students have completed their analysis, ask
them to present their findings to the class. Encourage
them to use visual aids, such as images or diagrams, to
enhance their presentation.
5. After each presentation, allow time for questions
and discussion. Encourage students to ask questions and
share their own insights and perspectives on the
significance of the cultural artifact, symbol, or practice.
E. Application and Generalization
(Elaborate)
The teacher will encourage the students to use
their newfound understanding of culture, society, and
politics to analyze the cultural practices, symbols, and
