Definition of Documentary Research According to Nilamsari (2014), the documentary method is among the most commonly used approaches in social research methodology, especially for data collection. According to Bongin (2007:121), the documentary method is a data collection technique used to examine historical data. According to Ahmed (2010), documentary research is one of the three major forms of social research and is widely used in sociology and other social sciences.

Procedure of Documentary Research 1. Authenticity – Refers to the genuineness and truthfulness of the source. 2. Credibility – Ensures the evidence is free from error or distortion. 3. Representativeness – Determines whether the evidence is typical or atypical. 4. Meaning – Ensures clarity and comprehension of the document's content.
