Drone rules issued by Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) for commercial use of drones or remotely operated aircraft came into force from 25 August 2021 These rules may be called the Drone Rules, 2021 The rules are divided into 12 parts DRONE RULES 2021

DRONE RULES 2021 PART V : OPERATION OF UAS OPERATION OF UAS MANDATORY REPORTING OF AN ACCIDENT No later than 48 (forty eight) hours after an accident involving a drone, the remote pilot shall report the accident to the DGCA through the digital sky platform.

ELIGIBILITY AGE Not less than eighteen years and more than sixty-five years QUALIFICATION Passed class tenth or equivalent from a recognized board TRAINING Successfully completed training from a remote pilot training organization. DRONE RULES 2021 PART VI REMOTE PILOT CERTIFICATE

PROCEDURE FOR OBTAINING A REMOTE PILOT CERTIFICATE Any individual, who desires to obtain a remote pilot certificate for any category, sub-category of drone : Shall complete the training specified by the DGCA for such category pass the tests conducted by the authorized remote pilot training organization. VALIDITY OF CERTIFICATE A remote pilot certificate shall: Be valid only if it is registered on the digital sky platform Unless suspended or cancelled, remain valid for a period of ten years Be renewed by DGCA for such period as may be specified therein, subject to maximum of 10 years, on payment of fee DRONE RULES 2021 PART VI REMOTE PILOT CERTIFICATE

EXEMPTION FROM OBTAINING A LICENSE No remote pilot certificate shall be required for : Operating a Nano drone Operating a Micro drone for non-commercial purposes. DRONE RULES 2021 PART VI REMOTE PILOT CERTIFICATE

Where, after giving an opportunity of being heard, the DGCA or an officer authorised by Government is satisfied that a person has violated or failed to comply with the provisions of these rules, he/she may, for reasons to be recorded in writing Levy a penalty not exceeding rupees one lakh ( ₹1,00,000) in accordance with the provisions of section 10A of the Act. THE THREE ZONES Airspace up to vertical distance of 400 feet , that is not designated as Red Zone or Yellow Zone Beyond 12kms from the Airport Airspace above 400 feet in Green Zone Airspace above 200 feet within 8-12km of an Airport Restricted : Needs ATC permit Airspace where UAV only allowed by Centre is permitted PERMISSION NOT NEEDED NEEDS PERMIT NOT ALLOWED

DYNAMIC NATURE OF ZONING Government updates the airspace map on digital sky platform for unmanned aircraft system operations from time to time TEMPORARY RED ZONE If there is an urgent need to temporarily prohibit drone flights, the concerned State Government or a law enforcement agency may declare a temporary red zone over such specified area SAFE OPERATION No person shall operate an unmanned aircraft system in a manner, either directly or indirectly, as to endanger the safety and security of any person or property.
