What is dspace -cris? DSpace -CRIS is the free open-source extension of DSpace promoted by 4Science and adopted by a large (> 200 institutions) community world-wide Differently from other Service Providers, 4Science has released as open source all the improvements and fixes adopted to make DSpace more suitable to a large variety of use cases. They are released publicly on GitHub since 2012 and presented to the community at conferences such as Open Repository (since the very first one!) The name DSpace -CRIS is due to the fact that back in 2012 only Research Information Management Systems (RIMS, named CRIS in Europe) were advocating that Entities are needed to put research outputs in context Nowadays, we know that any modern repository platform is expected to support a more detailed data model 43

Backporting from dspace -cris Anyone is welcome to backport features from DSpace -CRIS to DSpace 4Science is leading in the task, devoting thousands of hours each year The most relevant features in DSpace 7+ were indeed developed first in DSpace -CRIS: MyDSpace Submission system Live import ORCID Integration Correction Service Publication Claim COAR Notify ... 44
