PROBLEM STATEMENT Farmers in rural areas face significant challenges in reaching a wider market for their produce, including limited access to buyers, fluctuating market prices, and time-consuming processes of visiting physical markets. Despite the increasing use of smartphones and technology in rural communities, there is a lack of efficient platforms to bridge the gap between farmers and consumers. Additionally, consumers often struggle to directly access fresh produce from farmers at fair prices. This gap in connectivity and accessibility hinders the growth and development of the agricultural sector, which is a crucial pillar of the Indian economy. This platform is designed to help farmers connect with consumers and boost sales easily and directly.
OBJECTIVE The primary objective of this E-commerce application is to empower farmers by providing a user-friendly online platform to increase their sales and connect directly with consumers. It aims to simplify the process of sharing market prices, reduce the time and effort required for farmers to reach markets, and ensure real-time price updates. Additionally, the application seeks to enhance accessibility, enable efficient knowledge sharing, and provide consumers with easy access to fresh produce, thereby supporting the agricultural community and promoting innovation in rural areas.
The E-commerce application aims to help farmers increase sales by providing an online platform where users can purchase products from anywhere. It simplifies the process for farmers to register and update daily market prices for fruits and vegetables without visiting the market. This application benefits rural farmers as smartphone usage grows, enabling efficient sharing of information and knowledge. It offers 24/7 availability, speed, a wide selection of products, accessibility, and global reach. While challenges like limited customer service and shipping delays exist, it saves farmers significant time and effort. Designed for the agricultural community, it supports farmers, the backbone of the Indian economy, by empowering them with innovative technology. LITERATURE SURVEY EXISTING SYSTEM In the existing system, shopping is done manually, requiring customers to visit physical markets to choose the products they need. This approach poses challenges for farmers due to reasons such as seasonal limitations and the short shelf life of crops, leaving them with minimal time to study market conditions effectively. Additionally, this manual process is time-consuming and inefficient. Therefore, automating the system is essential to address these issues, save time, and streamline the overall process.
LITERATURE SURVEY PROPOSED SYSTEM This study integrates farmers, merchants, markets, the government, and end-users, effectively bridging the gaps between them. It keeps everyone updated with the changing market scenario. By introducing a new marketing method, farmers can sell their crops at various stages of the marketing chain (merchants, markets, or directly to end-users), offering multiple options. Additionally, the lack of transparency in government pricing, where crop sales at the minimum base price were not traceable, has been addressed. The platform and modern techniques will help farmers sell their crops through different marketing layers, providing more flexibility and meeting market demands. Product Catalog and Listing Module Allows farmers to list their agricultural products. Provides options to categorize products based on type, price, and availability. 3 . Market Price Tracker Module Displays real-time market prices for various crops and products. Helps farmers stay updated on price trends. 4. Payment Gateway Integration Module Enables secure online transactions between farmers and consumers/merchants. Supports multiple payment methods (credit/debit cards, UPI, etc.). 5. Order Management Module Handles order creation, tracking, and management for both buyers and sellers. Includes features for order status updates, cancellations, and returns.
