การคาดการณ์ผลกระทบระบบมัดจำคืนเงินบรรจุภัณฑ์เครื่องดื่มต่อคนเก็บขยะนอกระบบ รถซาเล้งและสังคมในกรุงเทพมหานคร ((Economic and Social Impacts from the Implementation of a Deposit-Refund System on Informal Waste Pickers and Tuk-Tuk Drivers in Bangkok City)
The Deposit Refund System is a system implemented in many countries to promote recycling and reduce waste. Consumers receive a refund when they return beverage containers, and if applied in Bangkok, it may have both positive and negative economic and social impacts on informal waste pickers and tuk-tuk drivers. This study forecasts potential impacts, including reduced income from certain types of recyclable waste collection, but also potential opportunities for earning through new channels arising from the system. Moreover, it could improve the quality of life for some waste pickers if they are supported to join the official system and raised awareness regarding waste management in society. To ensure the system's effectiveness, supportive measures such as training and creating accessible ways for waste pickers to participate in the system should be implemented to maximize the benefits for informal waste collectors.
