2. Company Overview
TMTL Engines Division is a unit of TAFE Motors and Tractors
Limited (TMTL) with Alwar, Rajasthan, India, as its manufacturing
base. TMTL is a wholly owned subsidiary of Tractors and Farm
Equipment Limited (TAFE), part of Chennai based Amalgamations
Group, which is one of India's largest light engineering
conglomerates. The Amalgamations Group has a long and
distinguished history of serving Indian and global markets with a pan
India presence of over 41 companies and is renowned for its highest
standards of integrity, ethics and values, backed by a highly skilled
and competent workforce of over 15,000.
The TMTL Engines' Alwar plant at Rajasthan, India, produces a wide
range of air and water cooled engines in the brand names of EICHER
ENGINES (upto 45 kVA) and TMTL ENGINES (62.5 kVA & above),
which cater to a wide range of automotive and stationary
applications and has an existing customer base of over 1 million
spread across various segments

5. The philosophy that drives TAFE was first enunciated by
its CMD in 1992. "To us in TAFE, Excellence is not
something that we engineer, inspect and input into our
Engine & Genset. It is an innate desire to attain the best
that comes from within each of us. It defines our lives at
work and at home and ripples out into the world around
us" (Source: Corporate Film-1992).
This inspired TAFE to evolve its Vision & Values in 1999,
through a company-wide participative exercise with
external facilitation from IIM, Bangalore. The Vision &
Values statement captures key elements of TAFE's
culture, strengths and aspirations. Subsequently, Warwick
Manufacturing Group (WMG), UK, facilitated each element
of the V&V being linked to CSFs of the company to
translate 'Vision' to 'Reality' through a Vision to Reality
Plan (VTRP) that forms the basis of the company's
Business Plan.

8. Silent Gensets
(5-45 kVA)
The 5 to 45 kVA range of gensets is the air cooled range
and is sold under the Eicher Engines brand under the
TMTL Engines Division umbrella. The smallest engine
which powers our 5 and 7.5 kVA gensets can bear the
load of two 1.5 ton ACs and still has the lowest footprint
among engines with a 1500 rpm speed. From 5 to 25 kVA
our gensets are naturally aspirated; 30 and 35 kVA are
turbo charged, and 35 to 45 kVA are turbo charged with
after cooler to make it extremely fuel efficient. All our
engines in this range have A1 governing and the highest
moment of inertia owing to the heavy flywheel ensuring
the best quality of power and zero flickering.

9. Silent Gensets
(62.5kVA & Above)
The 62.5 kVA to 125 kVA is our water cooled range and is
sold under the TMTL Engines brand under the TMTL
Engines Division umbrella. In this range, all the gensets
are turbo charged with after cooler leading to superior
fuel efficiency. All engines have A1 governing except the
125 kVA genset, which has the upgraded Isochronous
governing.These engines have the highest moment of
inertia owing to the heavy flywheel ensuring the best
quality of power and zero flickering. Up to 125 kVA range,
TMTL is the only genset company which has developed
CRDI technology.

10. Agro Engines
Marketed under the Eicher Engines brand, Agro Engines
manufactures superior quality diesel engines in the range
12 – 46 hp. These engines are robust, low maintenance,
fuel efficient and serve as an additional source of
revenue to farmers and our rural customers. In a short
span of time, the brand has earned the trust of most
customers and is one of the most preferred brand names
in the range.
All the engines in this segment are air-cooled, and can run
for long durations at high ambient temperatures, thereby
increasing the productivity and profits of the customer.
Agro Engines have no need for a coolant and are almost
completely maintenance free since there is no radiator,
water pump, or thermostat valve, bypassing the usual
problems of leakages and radiator choking.
