About This Presentation

Elements of artificial Intelligence.Artificial intelligence (AI) refers to the simulation of human intelligence in machines that are programmed to think like humans and mimic their actions. The term may also be applied to any machine that exhibits traits associated with a human mind such as learning...

WELCOME NAME- BRANCH - Roll No- TOPIC- ELEMENTS OF AI

CONTENTS- Introduction Definition Early History Limitations of Human Mind Current status of AI Types of AI Applications Advantages Disadvantages Challenges for AI and Future e of AI Conclusion Referance

INTRODUCTION Artificial Intelligence is a branch of Science which deals with helping machines finds solutions to complex problems in a more human-like fashion.

DEFINITION- ( What is Ai) The study of computer systems that attempt to model and apply the intelligence of the human mind. A branch of computer science dealing with the simulation of intelligent behaviour in computers. The capability of a machine to imitate intelligent human behaviour.

HISTORY- In 1950 English mathematician Alan Turing wrote a landmark paper titled “Computing Machinery and Intelligence” that asked the question: “Can machines think?” Further work came out of a 1956 workshop at Dartmouth sponsored by John McCarthy. In the proposal for that workshop, he coined the phrase a “study of Artificial Intelligence”

Brief History of A I - 1941 : First electronic computer (technology finally available) 1956 : Term Artificial Intelligence introduced 1960s : Checkers-playing program that was able to play games with opponents 1980s : Quality Control Systems 2000 : First sophisticated walking robot

LIMITATIONS OF HUMAN MIND Object recognition. Face recognition. Naming of colours.

CURRENT STASTUS OF AI AI have taken many shapes and forms over recent years Mobile Phones ( Siri/ Cortana) o Video Games Characters o GPS/ Voice Recognition o Robotics Google has been a major play on AI transcendence and Deep Learning. o Deep learning is a machine learning based on algorithms. Some programmable functions of AI systems include planning, learning, reasoning, problem solving, and decision making .

TYPES OF AI Artificial narrow intelligence (ANI)- Artificial general intelligence (AGI)- Artificial superintelligence (ASI)-

Artificial narrow intelligence Artificial narrow intelligence (ANI), also referred to as weak AI or narrow AI. Narrow AI is goal-oriented, designed to perform singular tasks i.e. facial recognition, speech recognition/voice assistants, driving a car, or searching the internet - and is very intelligent at completing the specific task it is programmed to do.

Artificial general intelligence Artificial general intelligence is the hypothetical ability of intellegent agaent to understand or learn any intellectual task that human being can AGI can think, understand, and act in a way that is indistinguishable from that of a human in any given situation .

Artificial Super Intelligence Artificial super intelligence (ASI), is the hypothetical AI that doesn’t just mimic or understand human intelligence and behaviour; ASI is where machines become self-aware and surpass the capacity of human intelligence and ability.

APPLICATIONS OF AI Finance : Banking organize operations, invest in stocks, and manage properties. In August 2001, robots beat humans in a simulated financial trading competition. Some other applications in this section include loan investigation, ATM design, safe and fast banking etc

Med ical : A medical clinic can use AI systemsto organize bed schedules, make a staff rotation, and provide medical information. AI has also application in fields of cardiology (CRG), neurology (MRI), embryology (sonography),complex operations of internal organs etc.

Heavy Industries- Huge machines involverisk in their manual maintenance and working. So its becomes necessary part to have an efficient and safe operation agent in their operation.

Telecommunications : Automatic robocall detection Congestion management Increasing network efficiency Spectrum management Lowering operation cost due to above factors

ADVANTAGES AI drives down the time taken to perform a task. It enables multi-tasking and eases the workload for existing resources. AI enables the execution of hitherto complex tasks without significant cost outlays. AI operates 24x7 without interruption or breaks and has no downtime AI augments the capabilities of differently abled individuals AI has mass market potential, it can be deployed across industries. AI facilitates decision-making by making the process faster and smarter.

Disadvantages Self-modifying, when combined with self-replicating, can lead to dangerous, unexpected results, such as a new and frequently mutating computer virus .

CHALLENGES • Computing Power • Tolerance Power • Intuitive Thinking • Judging Power

FUTURE OF AI AutomatedTransportation CyborgTechnology Taking over dangerous jobs Solving climate change Robot as friends Self Driving Cars. Improved Medical Care & Treatment. Open up doors to future explorations.

CONCLUSION- Artificial Intelligence and the technology are one side of the life that always interest and surprise us with the new ideas, topics, innovations, products …etc. AI is still not implemented as the films representing it(i.e. intelligent robots), however there are many important tries to reach the level and to compete in market, like sometimes the robots that they show inTV. Nevertheless, the hidden projects and the development in industrial companies .
