Sturdy Ballers Only: The Brand Identity of a Sports Reporter
By Elijah Clary
Introduction
§The objective of this micro-project is for students to
develop a comprehensive brand identity kit, focusing on
essential elements such as font families, color palette,
and logo design. Students will gain an understanding of
the psychology behind font and color choices and learn
to apply this knowledge in creating a cohesive brand
identity.
Overview
§This Brand identity is designed for a sports reporter- someone who is strengthened by
passion, devotion, and unity. Sturdy Ballers Only is known for athletes who are well built,
tough, passionate, and their devotion to the game. These same character traits fall in line
with my personality brand as a lover. A great athlete attracts viewers, gives to the game,
and receives love from viewers and fans from their contributions. This personality paves
the way for appreciation, closeness, and collaboration that is vital to the success of
relationships being built between a sports reporter and an athlete.

Color Palette
Dark Blue: Dark Blue symbolizes knowledge, authority, and reliability. It is also linked to consciousness and intellect, making it a color that represents the
knowledge and reliability of a sports reporter who brings his knowledge of the
game, player, and team come to light.
Dark Red: Dark Red symbolizes everything from life force to anger to lust. It represents the anger aspect in sports that can be shown from a coach or player
during an interview.
Light Yellow: Light Yellow symbolizes joy, happiness, optimism, hope, and friendship. This color is significant when talking about life as a sports reporter due
to the joy it leaves for people as consumers. As a sports reporter its crucial to
provide hope and optimism for the team they’re covering when talking about the
team as a whole, or a specific player.
Dark Orange: Dark Orange symbolizes negative factors such as pride, greed, and selfishness. When reporting stories when you discuss things going wrong for the
team, or certain players it comes down to those traits getting in the way of success.
When talking about team success you must have the ability to put your pride to the
side, put the team over your own personal needs, and while also displaying
unselfishness.
