Emergency Equipment

Summary Proposal to replace damage and non-comply emergency shower & eyewash system and portable eyewash station during an emergency. Number of existing emergency shower and eyewash not in effective working condition due to ageing and the replacement parts already obsolete. Few emergency shower not comply to existing guideline American National Standards Institute (ANSI) standard Z358.1-2014 (R2020) "Emergency Eyewash and Shower Equipment. This project required capital expenditure (CAPEX):- Use Wall Mounted Blower unit: RM 103,686 ( Original price + 10 % contingency amount)

Snapshot: Current vs Future Below are the issues faced with the current method: Air supply direct from compress at pressure of 6 bar \87 psig (minimum) [ OSHA recommended pressure for personal cleaning at 2 bar] No air regulator inclusive filter unit to adjust the pressure; risk of flying chips. Pneumatic hose fitted to the incoming air supply control by ball valve only; high likelihood the hose whipping cause bodily injury The air release blowing out without safety air gun to prevent risk of exposure to high noise; bodily injury ( air embolism); dead-end impact ( if the outcoming air blocked) The improvement that we are initiating is to provide a better personal cleaning management control. through this new plan, we are able to: Reduce the air pressure bellow 2 bar / 30psig as per the legal needs Reduce energy waste via minimize the pressure and compress air utilization; [ Operation Energy Efficiency ] Prevent accident due to flying chipping\debris; high noise; impact injury to skin during personal cleaning activity [ RIR reduction ] Using safety air gun produce quite sound level bellow the Permissible Exposure Limit of 85 dB.

Proposal Proposal 1 Proposal 2 Advantages Produces high-volume, low-pressure air (2.52PSIG) Blower-powered air produced by the Cleaning Station costs less than the equivalent compressed air generation With levels below 78dB(A), the cleaning station is typically quieter than most compressed air Dust \ Particle exhausted \ vacuum minimize air born Operate at safe pressure of 30 psi Lower pressure, lower energy cost Use safety guns with safety nozzle and built in noise reduction level up to 72 dB Safety air gun with chip guards to protect form flying chips Lower total cost Less Maintenance Disadvantages Higher initial coast Parts availability, need lead time Preventive Maintenance Compress air, high energy consumption; relative to frequent use Produce flying chips risk for user and other in vicinity Dust blow-off to environment create air bone particle ( exposure to dust); dust pollution

Costing Proposal 1 Proposal 2 Equipment's One Unit inclusive Transfer: RM 8426 (AUD 2,700) Regulator + Safety Air Gun: RM 1103 Fitting & Installation Power point installation : RM 1000 Hose + Hose Coupling + Whip Check: RM 200 Cost for one set RM 9,426 RM 1303 Total 10 set RM 94,260 RM 13,030

Risk Register Likely High air stream penetrate to skin due to direct cleaning at 6 bar of pressure air. Air hose whipping lead to bodily injury due to high pressure with low control Flying chips \ debris hit pedestrian \ operator nearby High flying debris \ chips contact with eye cause severe injury Possible Finding from SEAL Audit \ ISO Audit Unlikely   Low Moderate CONSEQUENCE High
