The population is 2.6 million of people, With an area of 18.892 km2. The average population of North Sulawesi works as farmer, fisherman, private employee, and government employee.
Led by Governor Mr. Olly Dondokambey and Vice Governor Mr. Steven Kandouw. They are very committed on supporting the tourism sector and other economy sector.�It is evident that since leading the province in 2016, Governor Olly and Vice Governor Steven have opened direct flights from 12 cities in China and Japan. Also a direct flight from Singapore to Manado. And in 2016-2019 North Sulawesi recorded an increasing rate of tourist visits by 600 percent from before, with an average of 10 thousand tourists per month.
Have an economic growth of 4.16 percent higher than the national which is only 3.6 percent. During the pandemic, a number of property investment and trade projects are still ongoing. Even in 2020, when the pandemic peaked, an investment hotel called Luwansa was built in just 7 months!
Administratively, it has 15 districts and cities. Namely, Manado, Bitung, Tondano, Tomohon, South Minahasa, Southeast Minahasa, North Minahasa, Bolmong, South Bolmong, East Bolmong, Kotamobagu, Talaud, Sangihe & Sitaro.

4. INVESTMENT AND TOURISM DESTINATION North Sulawesi has 15 beautiful tourism destinations with natural tourism patterns: sea and mountains. It has Bunaken National Sea Park and Lihaga Island as well as other beautiful diving spots. Since 2019, President Joko Widodo has designated Likupang , North Minahasa Regency as a Special Economic Zone (also known as KEK) for tourism and a priority destination for Indonesia. Likupang is known as a strategic tourism investment area covering an area of more than 2,500 ha. Besides Likupang , North Sulawesi also has an industrial KEK in Bitung .

5. THERE ARE 5 NATIONAL TOURISM EVENTS TOMOHON INTERNATIONAL FLOWER FESTIVAL . This is the same as flower tournament in Pasadena, USA. This event held in Tomohon . Mountain nature of Tomohon is beautiful and has cooler temperature from Manado, It is 1 hour from Manado. It has been held since 10 years ago, followed by participants from abroad. The Tomohon International Flower Festival is held every year. LIKUPANG BEACH FESTIVAL , Is a festival on the beach of Likupang tourism KEK area. Tourists can enjoy while staying in exotic traditional cottages owned by local residents. This event will be held on 29 – 31 July 2022. LAKE TONDANO FESTIVAL . It is a festival on a lake in Minahasa highlands. It is Beautiful and only 1 hour trip from Manado. This event will be held on 3-5 November 2022. MANGATASIK UNDERWATER PHOTOGRAPHY , This is for the underwater world photo enthusiast. For three years, this event has been routinely held at Mangatasik resort. The underwater world of Mangatasik is beautiful and nicknamed the other Bunaken . This is an annual event. MANADO FESTIVAL , The event is held on the Manado beach in the Boulevard business district. Beautiful view of Manado bay with the cluster of Manado Tua and Bunaken islands. It has Various cultural attractions, culinary and paragliding. This event is held every September. ALSO KNOWN AS “KHARISMA EVENT NUSANTARA” (KEN) IN NORTH SULAWESI

6. HEALTH TOURISM IN 15 INTERNATIONAL-CLASS HOSPITALS WITH VARIOUS ADVANCES IN MEDICAL TECHNOLOGY. There are ODSK Hospital, Dr Kandou Malalayang Hospital, Siloam Hospital, Sentra Medika Hospital and Hotel, Dr J Awaloei Hospital, Hermina Hospital. Walanda Maramis Hospital, Manado MMC Hospital, Adventist Hospital, Gunung Maria Hospital, Bethesda Hospital. And others . Even now the provincial government is preparing a sister hospital collaboration in the anti-aging field with Pusan University Hospital.

The province of North Sulawesi has become a center for business and other activities for people from neighboring provinces in Eastern Indonesia : Papua, West Papua, Maluku, North Maluku, Gorontalo, Makasar , Palu . People from various provinces in eastern Indonesia have high purchasing power because the majority of them are businessmen, traders and farmers from agricultural products to mining. They also come to Manado for tours and even travel to Singapore.
