Career Plan: Entrepreneur in IoT and AI-Based Systems
Introduction
Ever since my engineering journey began, I have been fascinated by how interconnected
technology can transform human life. From smart homes that learn our habits to intelligent
traffic systems that reduce congestion, the Internet of Things (IoT) and Artificial Intelligence
(AI) represent the next frontier of innovation. My career goal is to become an entrepreneur who
builds intelligent IoT-based systems and AI-driven solutions for real-world challenges in India. I
believe that combining IoT hardware innovation with AI-powered data analysis can redefine
industries such as healthcare, agriculture, and urban infrastructure.
Rather than just working for a company, I want to create one — a company that not only offers
innovative solutions but also nurtures young engineering talent. This vision was inspired by
observing entrepreneurs like Ritesh Agarwal, the founder of OYO, who started with limited
resources but built a global brand through bold thinking and smart technology adoption.
Similarly, I aim to build an organization that leverages AI and IoT to make technology
accessible, affordable, and impactful.
Career Roadmap
At age 25 – Foundation and Learning Phase
Position/Status: Graduate Engineer / Early-stage Entrepreneur
Skills Acquired: IoT system design, AI basics (Python, TensorFlow), embedded systems,
networking fundamentals, project management, and startup incubation experience.
Strategy/Roadmap: By 25, I plan to complete my engineering degree and gain hands-on
experience through internships in IoT startups or tech companies. My goal at this stage is to
understand product design, customer needs, and market gaps. I will also work on small-scale
IoT projects—like a smart energy monitoring system or an AI-based waste segregation
prototype—to build a personal portfolio. Alongside, I’ll participate in startup incubation
programs, hackathons, and university innovation cells to gain exposure to entrepreneurial
ecosystems.
At age 30 – Startup Launch and Market Entry
Position/Status: Founder & CEO of an early-stage IoT-AI startup
Skills Acquired: Business strategy, fundraising, leadership, AI model deployment, cloud
computing, data analytics, and marketing.
Strategy/Roadmap: By 30, I aim to officially launch my own company focused on developing IoT
solutions for smart environments—such as predictive maintenance systems for industries or
AI-driven monitoring tools for agriculture. I’ll focus on building a small but skilled team of
engineers, designers, and marketers who share the same vision. Funding will come from startup

accelerators, angel investors, or government programs like Startup India. I will ensure that my
business operates on sustainable principles — affordable technology, local manufacturing, and
data security. My short-term goal is to secure 3–5 pilot projects with medium-sized enterprises
to establish market credibility.
At age 35 – Expansion and Diversification
Position/Status: CEO / Technology Leader of a growing enterprise
Skills Acquired: Advanced AI applications, financial management, talent retention, large-scale
system design, and partnership development.
Strategy/Roadmap: By 35, the focus will be on scaling the company regionally and expanding
into multiple domains like smart healthcare systems and AI-powered logistics. The company
should have a stable revenue model and a growing client base. I will establish R&D teams to
keep innovating and exploring cutting-edge technologies like Edge AI and 5G-enabled IoT. At
this stage, I plan to collaborate with universities and research institutions to develop joint
projects, and offer internships to students—nurturing new talent just as I was once mentored.
International partnerships will also be explored to bring global standards to local products.
At age 40 – Establishing Global Presence
Position/Status: Managing Director / Serial Entrepreneur
Skills Acquired: Global business development, product diversification, mergers and acquisitions,
brand management, and leadership mentoring.
Strategy/Roadmap: By 40, my aim is to make the company a recognized name in the Asian
market. I plan to open branches or partnerships in other countries, particularly in Southeast
Asia or Africa, where affordable IoT and AI-based solutions are in high demand. The company
will also focus on sustainability—developing green IoT systems for energy management and
water conservation. At this stage, I also want to invest in other early-stage startups, providing
mentorship and seed funding to young innovators. This not only helps diversify my business
interests but also contributes to India’s growing startup ecosystem.
At age 50 and beyond – Legacy and Impact
Position/Status: Investor, Mentor, and Technological Visionary
Skills Acquired: Policy advocacy, corporate governance, public speaking, and sustainable
innovation strategies.
Strategy/Roadmap: By 50, I envision transitioning from day-to-day business management to
mentoring roles and investing in research and startups. I want to establish a foundation that
supports rural technology innovation — bringing AI and IoT to sectors like agriculture,
healthcare, and education in underdeveloped areas. My long-term goal is to contribute to India’s
vision of becoming a global innovation hub by fostering ethical, inclusive, and sustainable tech
development.

Case Studies
Case Study 1: Ritesh Agarwal – OYO Rooms
Ritesh Agarwal’s journey from a small-town boy in Odisha to the founder of a billion-dollar
hospitality company has been a strong inspiration. He identified a simple problem — lack of
affordable, standardized hotels — and solved it using technology and smart business models.
Despite facing failures and market challenges, his resilience, adaptability, and customer-first
mindset helped him scale OYO to over 80 countries. His journey emphasizes the power of vision
and persistence—values I want to emulate in my entrepreneurial path.
Case Study 2: Bhavish Aggarwal – Ola Cabs
Bhavish Aggarwal, co-founder of Ola, redefined urban mobility in India. He used technology to
connect millions of drivers and customers seamlessly. His ability to localize technology, adapt to
regulatory changes, and scale quickly are crucial lessons for any entrepreneur. Like him, I
intend to focus on solving uniquely Indian challenges through innovation rather than
replicating foreign models.
Conclusion
Entrepreneurship is not just about starting a company; it’s about creating value and impact. My
goal is to build a tech-driven organization that uses IoT and AI to solve practical problems faced
by industries and communities. The journey from a young engineer to a seasoned entrepreneur
will demand learning, resilience, and adaptability—but with the right strategy, team, and
mindset, I believe it’s achievable. By combining the creativity of innovation with the discipline
of engineering, I aspire to build solutions that make everyday life smarter, safer, and more
efficient—contributing to both national growth and personal fulfillment.
