2. Resources Means anything that satisfies a need. It is a source or supply from which benefit is produced.

3. Environmental resources An environmental resource is any material, service or information from the environment that is valuable to society. This can refer to anything that people find useful in their surroundings.

4. Types Natural Resources Man made Resources

5. Natural resources Natural resources are materials or substances occurring in nature which can be exploited for economic gain. E.g.: air, water, wood, oil, wind energy, iron and coal. Refined oil and hydro-electric energy are not natural resources because people make them. There are two types of natural resources Renewable resources Nonrenewable resources

6. Renewable resources Renewable resource (infinite resources) that can be refilled in a short period of time. E.g.: Solar Geothermal (energy from earth’s heat) Wind Biomass (energy from burning organic or living matter) Water or Hydroelectric (energy from the flow of water)

7. Nonrenewable resources Non-renewable resource is a natural resource that cannot be re-made or re-grown at a scale comparable to its consumption.

10. Man made Resources Defined as a resource created by humans. “Man made resources are items or substances that have value to human lives that do not occur in the natural world” E.g.: Museum Botanical garden Buildings Hospitals Krishibhavans Research centers Zoo
