EOT Crane Working Principle system consists of three working movements: 1.crane hook up and down lifting. 2. Cross Trolley movement. 3. Crane long traveling longitudinal motion.

1.Transmission of Power in hoisting system: The driving force of hoisting mechanism is from motor. It transmits power by gear coupling, and brake-wheel coupling. Then through Gear Box to reduce the high revolution of motor to the required revolution, and output by low-speed shaft of Gear box. The ring gear of drum transmit driving force to drum set, then through wire ropes and pulleys drive crane hook up and down, so as to finish the lifting of the heavy objects up and down.

Transmission of crane Trolley traveling system: 1.the driving force of crane trolley is from motor. It transmits power by brake-wheel coupling and half gear coupling. Then through Gear Box to reduce the high revolution of motor to the required revolution, and output by low-speed shaft of reducer. And then by gear coupling, the gear coupling joint with trolley driving wheels, so as to drive the trolley driving wheels rotating, so that finish trolley transport heavy objects by lateral movement.

And then by full gear coupling joint with crane driving wheel shaft, so as to drive the crane driving wheels rotating, so that finish bridge transport heavy objects by lateral movement.
Working Load Limits (WLLs) of Attachments Below are the rule of thumb methods of calculating the WLL’s of flexible steel wire rope, chain and fiber rope. Please note that these methods only give approximate answers. 1. Flexible steel wire rope (FSWR) Formula: WLL ( kgs ) = D ² (mm) x 8 For example: Rope diameter (D) = 12mm WLL ( kgs ) = D ² (mm) x 8 = D (mm) x D (mm) x 8 = 12 x 12 x 8 = 1152 kgs WLL (t) = 1.15 tonnes
QUESTION ? Calculate the diameter (D) in mm of FSWR needed to lift load of 3 ton.
Answer Formula WLL ( Kgs )= D ² X 8 Here WLL=3000 Kgs D ² = 3000/8 D ² = 375 D = 19.3 mm
2. For Chain The WLL of chain is determined by the grade (G). Formula: WLL ( kgs ) = D ² (mm) x G x 0.3 For example: Chain diameter – 10mm, Chain grade (T) i.e. grade 80.

The safety factor is more than 6-1. Load chain is zinc plated for resistance against corrosion. 3. Fiber Rope Formula: WLL ( kgs ) = D ² (mm) For example: Diameter = 25mm WLL ( kgs ) = D ² (mm) WLL ( kgs ) = D (mm) x D (mm) = 25 x 25 = 625 kgs WLL (t) = 0.625 tonnes .
