My Life My Journey Essay
As a very small child I don't remember too much, but the things that I do remember were seen
through a child's eyes that has made me the person that I am today and I will always have those
memory's with me until my last breath on this earth. In this essay I intend to show how my
childhood and adult life to this point has influenced my life, my journey. By utilizing the adult
development theories from this class I also intend on showing how they relate to my Life
experiences and where I am today as an Adult student.
Its funny how as a child you look at things. As time passes, those same child memories become life
experiences as an adult. It is stated that Environmental assessment is closely related to the impact
environment makes on...show more content...
I lost my little brother in 1982 at age 22 in an accident at my parent's home. Robbie was taking
down a C.B. antenna and it struck a high power line that ran into the local General Motors plant.
Robbie was killed instantly. As Erickson's stated in his psychosocial development theory, "which
refers to the development within the social environment in which a person lives, primarily
focusing on relationships with other people" (Simanowitz & Pearce. 2003). This had brought
back memories of how my relationship was when we were little. I was always kind of upset with
Robbie because he was one of those kids that had that natural athletic ability. Robbie could run
faster and throw better, do everything better when it came to sports, but the real reason I was
mad at Robbie most of my childhood life was because every time something went wrong, I always
got the blame and in trouble. Mom would say "You're older you should have known better" Yes
she was right most of the time I did know better. I was the middle child and I was always the one
that got into trouble even though Robbie might have done it first. I had a good childhood for the
most part, I can't remember not doing without the things that I really needed as a child. Things like
clothes, food, shelter and love from a family. I recall having my favorite things

Abdul Reflection
During my first class of CST 100 I was thrilled to get to know one of my peers a little better, and
introduce him to the rest of the class. First, I started my presentation by introducing Abdul, then I
stated that he moved to the United Stated four years ago from Sierra Leone with his family, which
includes his wife Isiah and daughter Maryomma. Second, I mentioned Abdul is very Family
oriented, therefore his family plays a huge role in his life, as a support system while he furthers his
education. Third, I announced Abdul is currently studying Chemistry with plan to become a
Pharmacist. Abdul decided to expand his knowledge in this area of studies because he's interested in
how the body reacts to medication. In conclusion, I stated Abdul would...show more content...
You have to consider additional factors, such as remembering the material and in some cases you
may be unaware who your audience is, this can cause a tremendous amount of anxiety.
Conducting a presentation that you can prepare for is still difficult, but is more feasible because
it allows time to really understand your topic, think of interesting point and ensure your thoughts
are organized. How can you prepare for a planned or unplanned presentation? My approach would
include a small introduction and bullet points for the body of my presentation; this will help
ensure I stay on track allowing an easy reference if I forget my main points. Compared to my
classmates I can easily say I was the weakest presenter, I allowed my anxieties to be displayed on my
face, my voice and through my actions. If I could redo this presentation I would dress for success
because this will promote more self–confidence, use bullets points, and visualize

Abdul Kalam
President Dr A.P.J. Abdul Kalam
"Dreams float on an impatient wind, A wind that wants to create a new order. An order of strength
and thundering of fire." –– from a poem written by Dr A.P.J. Abdul Kalam
Dr A.P.J. Abdul Kalam is the undisputed father of India's missile program. He has breathed life into
ballistic missiles like the Agni and Prithvi, which put China and Pakistan well under India's missile
range. It is too exhausting to track Dr Abdul Kalam's achievements to date. In the '60s and '70s he
was a trail blazer in the space department. In the '80s he transformed the moribund Defence
Research and Development Laboratory in Hyderabad into a highly motivated team. By the '90s
Kalam emerged as the czar of Indian science and...show more content...
After that, he undertook a preliminary design study on Human Centrifuge. He designed and
developed a vertical takeoff and landing platform, and Hot Cockpit. Three years later, the
Aeronautical Development Establishment(ADE) was formed in Bangalore and he was posted there.
At ADE, Kalam served as a senior scientific assistant, heading a small team that developed a
prototype hovercraft. Defence Minister Krishna Menon rode in India's first indigenous hovercraft
with Kalam at the controls. But for reasons never explained, the project which would have been a
considerable international achievement in those days, was not encouraged. This was probably one
of the reasons why he moved out of ADE in 1962 and joined India's space program.
During 1963–82, he served the Indian Space Research Organisation(ISRO) in various capacities.
Here Kalam initiated Fibre Reinforced Plastics(FRP) activities, then after a stint with the
aerodynamics and design group, he joined the satellite launch vehicle team at Thumba, near
Trivandram and soon became Project Director for SLV–3. As Project Director, he was responsible
for carrying out the design, development, qualification and flight testing of 44 major sub systems.
The project managed to put Rohini, a scientific satellite, into orbit in July 1980. He was honoured
with a Padma Bhushan in 1981. Agni intermediate range ballistic missile
