Essay On How I Spent My Summer Vacation
Writing an essay about my summer vacation is proving to be quite the challenge. It's not that the
memories aren't there; it's just that distilling weeks of experiences, emotions, and adventures into
a coherent narrative feels like trying to fit an ocean into a teacup. There's a struggle to strike a
balance between recounting the highlights of the summer and delving into the deeper
significance of those moments.
Every attempt to start feels like diving headfirst into a pool of nostalgia, only to resurface with a
jumble of fragmented memories that resist neat categorization. How do I encapsulate the lazy
days spent basking in the sun, the spontaneous road trips with friends, and the quiet moments of
self-reflection into a few thousand words? It's like trying to capture lightning in a bottle.
Then there's the pressure to make it engaging, to hook the reader from the first sentence and keep
them enthralled until the very end. How do I convey the essence of those experiences in a way
that resonates with someone who wasn't there to share them? It's a daunting task, to say the least.
But perhaps the greatest challenge lies in finding the right words to convey the emotions tied to
those memories. How do I express the joy of newfound friendships, the exhilaration of stepping
outside my comfort zone, or the bittersweet pang of saying goodbye to a season that felt like it
would last forever? It's like trying to paint a masterpiece with only a handful of colors.
Yet, despite the difficulties, there's a certain beauty in the process. Each word typed is a step
closer to capturing the essence of that summer, to immortalizing it on the page. And while the
task may seem Herculean at times, there's a sense of satisfaction that comes from rising to the
challenge.
In the end, maybe that's the true purpose of writing about my summer vacation: not to create a
flawless narrative, but to embrace the messiness of the experience and find beauty in the chaos.
And who knows, perhaps in the midst of this struggle, I'll discover something new about myself
or unearth a forgotten gem of a memory.

How Does Perseus Save Andromeda
Perseus is about to rescue Andromeda from the Ketos, from a very scary snaky
green creature. The creature wants to kill her because of Cassiopeia s boasted. She
was more beautiful than the daughters of Nereus. (153) Which Cassiopeia did not
like that she was more beautiful than the daughters. So, Poseidon sends her to the sea
monsters for her punishment for being more beautiful than the daughters of Nereus.
Andromeda is chained to a rock by the sea. The creature then opens his gigantic jaw
and raises his huge teeth towards Andromeda. Perseusflies in from out of nowhere
with a windblown cloak over his shoulder to rescue Andromeda. Perseus saw her
and on the instant fell in love with her. (153) Then after he rescues her from her
death, Perseus task Andromeda back and asks for her hand. (153) So, Perseus takes
Andromeda back to her parents and asks for their permission to marry her. They
gave him her hand. They fall in love with each other and then got engaged.... Show

In this painting I see Pursue flying with his sword and Andromeda chained up to a
rock and a huge green sea monster blow them getting ready to eat Andromeda. The
reason why the title to this painting is Perseus and Andromeda is because it was
naming the main characters in the myth/painting. Andromeda is more beautiful than
the daughters of Nereus. Since she is more beautiful than his daughters Poseidon
sends the sea monster to kill Andromeda for her punishment for being for beautiful
than the daughters. I believe that the author was trying to capture how perseus was
trying to save Andromeda and them falling in

September 13, 1965, The Scariest And Most Haunted
Building...
On Friday, October 13, 1965, horrifying things happened in an apartment building
complex. Apartment 23B is the scariest and most haunted building in New York. It
was a dark and stormy night in New York City. Little Avery, Madison, Max, and
Aiden had a petrifying night. It caused a lot of dreadful memories that will be
penetrated in their minds forever. These kids just might find themselves in a bad
situation.
Day after day, we would pass the apartment building on our way to and from school.
Branches of vines and clusters of moss crawled up the sides of the building. I could
see the paint tearing off the walls. People for years have said the apartment building
is haunted, but I don t believe it. They say people have been possessed ... Show more

Aiden said with a smirk on his face. Why? You scared? They all laughed began to
walk again.
When we reached the door, I took a deep breath and walked in. As the doors
slammed shut behind us, we looked around to find the paint chipping off the walls, a
odor that smelled of rotting wood, and a large staircase.
C mon guys, Madison said as she took a few steps up the staircase. She was
fearless. The higher up we got, the darker and scarier it became. The first room when
we reached the top was the infamous apartment 23B.
Aiden looked back at all of us and said, Well, let s not just stand here. Let s go!
He pushed the door open as it creaked until it slammed against the wall. I took one
step in and felt out of place. Guys, please remind me why we are doing this still?
Because we have to show my wimpy little brother that you shouldn t believe
everything you hear, Madison said blaming it on Max as if it were his fault we
were here. We looked around. There was a torn up bed in the middle of the room,
along with the wallpaper that was ripping off the walls to reveal the structure behind.
We set up all of our stuff. Max and Aiden took the corner by the broken window and
fireplace, while Madison and I took the side with the ancient pictures and next to the
old, torn up bed. When we finally got set we decided to explore around the building.
Madison and I went together and explored the basement and the main

The Film Of The Films Lucy And Limitless
The films Lucy and Limitless both explore the pseudoscientific idea of humans
accessing more than the supposed 10 to 20 percent of their brains capacity.
Directed by Luc Besson, Lucy is film that explores what accessing more than 10
percent of the brain would look like. The film follows the main protagonist Lucy ,
who, as the result of a series of unfortunate events, ingests an experimental drug and
begins to develop supernatural abilities as her braingrows and in capacity and power.
Similarly, the film Limitless, directed Neil Burger, is a film in which the main
protagonistEdward Morra (Eddie, as referred to in the film) takes an experimental
drug and begins to develop the ability to access 100 percent of his brain, allowing
him to... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the case of Limitless, Eddie, the main protagonist is failing writer, who despite
his best intentions to write a book, is unable to follow through. Where as in Lucy,
the main protagonist is depicted as an easily influential student who enjoys the party
life. Both the Eddie and Lucy get involved with a lowlife drug dealer character, ends
up running errands for them making them an accomplice, only to find the drug
dealer brutally murdered. The main character then forcible or otherwise consumes
the drugs that resulted in the drug dealer s death and begins the access a larger
percentage of their cerebral capacity, allowing the protagonist to learn multiple
languages effortlessly, recall every experience they have ever had and learn to
adapt to their new found abilities. This comparison is key as it showcases the
similarities that the plot shares, both in character and context. In both films, the
main protagonist begins to suffer form side effects of the drug, leaving the viewer
wondering as to whether the main character was better off with the abilities. This
key component to the plot is an important technique used to create the complication
that sets the film up for a climax, keeping the audience captivated and curious as to
the outcome of the film. However, the climax of the film is where the plots from
each differs, as the film Lucy, Lucy begins to manifest into a sentient like character,
able to defy all

Barry Schwartz s The Paradox Of Choice
The more choice people have, the more freedom they have, and the more freedom
they have, the more welfare they have. This is an idea that Barry Schwartz talks
about in the book The Paradox of Choice. Choices in todays industrialized western
culture has let us believe that the more choices we have, would mean the happier
we are. Is this actually true? In fact, Barry Schwartz talks about his book in the Ted
Talk I chose. The whole idea that he persuaded you to grasp was that. When we
have more choices it makes us less satisfied than it would be if we had fewer
choices, an example of this would be. Say you had to choose 10 pairs of pants and
they were all different fits. Skinny, Loose, Slim, Relaxed, and so on. At this point
you would try all of them on. So you would ve choose the most suitable and
comfortable pair of jeans since you just tried them on. Since you had so many
choices you would ve left the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
We have tons and tons of brands of clothes, and a practically infinite amount of
brands of shoes. The amount of choices we have really chains us down. Whenever
you make a choice you ll constantly be wondering Could I have made a better
choice, or did I make the right choice? A popular study from Barry Schwartz book
shows. A study that was done of investments in voluntary retirement plans. A
colleague of mine got access to investment records from Vanguard, the gigantic
mutual fund company of about a million employees and about 2,000 different
workplaces. And what she found is that for every 10 mutual funds the employer
offered, rate of participation went down two percent. You offer 50 funds 10
percent fewer employees participate than if you only offer five. Why? Because
with 50 funds to choose from, it s so damn hard to decide which fund to choose.
After that you ll just keep saying tomorrow and so on. This is the idea Barry
Schwartz stresses to be an issue in today s

Research Paper On The Milkmaid
The milkmaid is an oil on canvas of 45.5 x 41 cm by the famous Dutch painter
Johannes Vermeer. The maid is standing in a plain scullery type room carefully
pouring milk into an earthenware container sitting on a small table next to a still
life arrangement of stale bread pieces and a full bread basket. From the way that the
maid dresses up, I think The Milkmaid prescribes a woman in the middle class.
The artist uses almost all implied lines. Taking the face of the milkmaid as a starting
point, it is important to focus on the light coming from the window and reflecting
directly upon her face in shadows and pale scales therefore, creating an effect of
three dimensionality. It makes the viewers focus what the maid is doing: pouring
milk. Then we will see a line between the milk vessel and the bread. I also see a line
from the bread basket in the left foreground to the maid s head. These lines
intersect at the maid s wrist, which lead us to the action that she is doing. Other
lines in the work are the window and framework, the edge of the table, the outline
of the woman s clothes, and the bottom of the wall. These implied lines are less
important than the line from the maid eyes. If you take a closer look, you will see a
parallel line between the slant of the basket to her diagonal slant of her arm and head.

Easy Rider Analysis
In Easy Rider, the mid 20th century intriguing drama directed by Dennis Hopper, we
were drawn back to 1969 to shed light on the influences of drugs, sex, and culture as
the characters began to question the American system in this counterculture
movement. The counterculture movement provoked an alternative lifestyle that came
about during the Vietnam War. The tensions following the protests of human
inequalities embodying racial segregation and the frustration faced with the draft
system resulted in the Civil Rights Movement. This film, Easy Rider, helped to
formulate and to transition over to the New Hollywood slump era. With the
experimentation of new drugs such as cocaine and marijuana, people yearned to
grasp a fresh perspective on life through the usage of these substances. These hippies,
especially the characters throughout the film, Billy and Wyatt, wanted to acquire
different forms of these perceptions so they were not viewed as inadequate within
society. The essence embodied throughout the film exhibits Billy and Wyatt aspiring
to find freedom through Hopper s usage of stylistic forms through film editingand
cinematography. These stylistic forms do not work in isolation, but rather work
together to create the underlying message in the quest to find themselves. Even from
the very start of the film, formalist elements are exemplified throughout the camera
movement as being jerky and careless. While still alluring in the natural presence
expressed throughout the captivating views of scenery during the sequences of the
cross country motorcycle ride. Easy Rider s central theme is freedom; while Billy
and Wyatt embark on an adventure throughout America in pursuit to find a
community to establish their roots. They traveled to many destinations from Los
Angeles to New Orleans to get that sense of belonging to join society harmoniously.
They essentially could not find what they were ultimately searching for. As the film
initially starts, the chopper detailed in authentic American features arrives at the La
Contenta Bar, a rugged bar located in California to participate in a drug deal. The
inefficient and weak looking machines they drive, which is a depicted as the
American dream, exemplifies

Hunters in the Snow Character Analysis of Tub Essay
Tub s Hardships
Being a man isn t always easy, for most of their life they are taught to show no
affection and to be tough in almost every situation. The tragedy of machismo is that a
man is never quite man enough. Hunters in the Snow , by Tobias Wolff, three hunting
buddies, Frank, Tub and Kenny, set out on a hunting trip together as they have done
for years. Tub, who is over weight, self conscious and a good friend, shows some of
his weaknesses, strengths and hardships that are sometimes placed on men in
different situations. The protagonist, over weight, Tub and his two hunting buddies,
Frank and Kenny take off early one morning to the snowy mountains for a deer hunt.
When they arrive and begin heading to the woods they near a ... Show more content

That s the way I feel about it (39). Despite how manly Tub is supposed to be as a man
, the two men have this special bond together and they show it. Tub then tells
Frank, When I said that about my glands, that wasn t true. The truth is I just shovel
it in (40). Regardless being made fun of or picked on about Tub s weight and
clumsiness, Tub is yet a good listener and a great friend. Ironically, at the end of the
story the two guys, Tub and Frank, are bonding and supporting each other at the
diner they stop at to get warmed up before the hospital, even though their other
friend Kenny is in the back of the truck dying. Frank tells Kenny, It wouldn t hurt
so much if you just stayed put. Now we re going to the hospital. Got that? Say it I
m going to the hospital (39). Once they leave the diner and are headed back
towards the hospital, Tub turns back to Frank, I just pulled a real boner, he said.
What s that? I left the directions on the table back there (39). A man having to be
tough and to show no affection can sometimes take a toll on their physical self being,
yet they can also still be somewhat sensitive to others emotions and feelings. In this
short story by Tobias Wolff, Hunters in the Snow , Tub shows some situations of
strength, weaknesses and hardships men endure as a friend or

Character Analysis Of Little Snow White
In Little Snow White by Germany, Jacob, and Wilhelm Grimm, there is a Queen
who becomes jealous of her seven year old daughter. She envied her daughter s
beauty and sends a huntsman to kill Snow White. Snow White is then all alone
and unable to care for herself and becomes dependent of the Seven Dwarfs.
Although she is the main character, she is also the weakest character in the story. In
Fables, we encounter a very different Snow White. Here Snow White oversees the
town, Fabletown. Unlike the original fairytale story, there are no Dwarfs looking
after her. She doesn t need a Prince to come to her rescue because she is the hero in
her own right. Her fierceness makes her a strong female who embodies power.
Unlike the Little Snow White, in Fables Snow White is the head in charge, she s
independent, and bold. Snow White is the head in charge who runs a town called
Fabletown. She still needs to run things by the Mayor but overall, she is the face
of Fabletown. Others come to her with their problems in hopes of a solution.
Contrary to the Snow White we know from the original fairytales where Snow
White is not in charge of anything and no one comes to her for solutions. Instead,
she has the seven dwarfs looking out for her. For example, when the queen tried to
kill her they said, It must have been the queen who tried to kill you, take care, and
do not let anyone in again (Germany, Jacob, and Wilhelm Grimm). This shows pity
on the dwarf s behalf because they knew she was unable to care for herself.
However, in Fables, Snow White is now the one looking out for others. For example,
Beauty and the Beast come to Snow White for help with their marriage. Although,
Snow White was not able to give them a solution, she was now on the opposite end
of the table unlike the young and naГ Їve Snow from the fairytale who sought others
for her problems. Fables shows a great representation of an independent woman with
Snow White. After leaving the homeland and moving to Fabletown, Snow White
does not have her Prince Charming. Instead, this Snow White shows that she can do
anything she sets her mind to without any help. Something that did not occur in the
fairytale where the prince comes to her rescue and they live happily ever

NTR191: Nutrition Counseling Skill Development
When I first read the title and the objectives of this chapter, I expected to study about
the first step of counseling. I am actually surprised that it was actually beyond than
just the counseling session. The chapter mostly analyzing us as the counselor and us
as self first.
I have taken a communication and education skills for dietetic professional in the
past. But it has been few years and it is good to re fresh some of the new materials.
Some of the objective learnings from this chapter that really interest me are
identifying factors of how people choose their foods, describing characteristic of an
effective counselor and evaluate my strengths and weakness ... Show more content on

And I found out that taste preference and culture background are the factors which
influence me the most (Pg. 3 4). These factors are important to study, so it would be
easier by the time we have to make the nutrition intervention. We can adjust the
intervention based on the factors which influence them the most. So clients still can
be comfortable, even when they have to change their diets.
Knowing the characteristics of effective nutrition counselors are valuable for me.
And I believe that I have many of the qualifications. One thing that is really
interesting about the characteristics is to have a sense of humor. I was a little
surprise, but agree. Besides being professional at work, as a counselor we are human
too. Humor helps to enrich the relationship with clients and helping them not to
focusing their problems too seriously (Pg.6).
The chapters suggest that we as counselors have to be able to understand our self
first, that we have to be OK if we would like to help others in need. Then it came to a
perspective that many counselors sometime forget that it is the client s needs which
need to be fulfill, not them. This situation leads to dictatorial situation where the
counselor show too much power and influence over the clients problems and decision
and forgot to be open and actually listen to the clients

Discuss The Advantages And Disadvantages Of Healthcare...
Though there are advantages of the healthcare insurance due to its cost effectiveness,
there are also challenges. One among the drawbacks that insurance brings into the
medical care system is the lack of profitability for hospitals. Many hospitals have been
reporting that their profit margins are shrinking due to the intervention of many
players that seek to have cheaper care. As competition among healthcare providers
intensifying, more hospitals are closing mostly attributed to the managed healthcare
insurancesystems. Physicians are also feeling the effect of insurance in their
profession. Over the years, physicians from the United States have always been the
envy world over. This is changing due to the stagnation of their earnings and
increasing premiums. Hence, more healthcare providers are seeking to retire earlier
this is affecting the physician patient relationship. Concerns on the spending on the
healthcare system are also real. A large portion of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP)
goes to financing healthcare. According to studies, the major worry is that with the
inflation of cost in medical services provision, its spending will have a negative effect
on all the other indicators of growth. That is, currently the healthcare depends on
insurance for funding. Accordingly, it will depend on government taxes and the
funding coming from employers. Increasing medical care cost will prompt the
government to increase taxes influencing negatively on the economy. Employers on

Abstract
Causes of dyslexia or reading disabilities have been hotly debated by researchers and
educators. Knowledge regarding the causes of reading disabilities is important as
they define the strategies that will used to help students with dyslexia learn. Dyslexia
is caused by differences in the information processing patterns of learning disability
students. Language and phonological skills have been found to be the main cause of
reading problems. This paper presents a critique and summarizes a paper dealing
with phonological skills and how they affect the ability to read. Besides this the paper

Therefore, an educator needs to know the areas to focus that will produce the best
results and help the student learn. Results from various studies have shown that
besides intelligence the ability to sequence, analyze, and remember sounds are the
biggest contributors to reading achievement (Smith, 2003). In view of these finding it
is important to isolate the fields within this area that will have the greatest impact and
help direct the learning strategies. A study along these lines was conducted by Melby
LervГҐg, Lyster, amp; Hulme. Melby LervГ Ґg, Lyster, amp; Hulme (2012) conducted
a meta analytic study to study the relationship between phonological skills and
student s reading abilities. Under phonological skills mainly three factors were
considered. They are verbal short term memory, phonemic awareness, and rime
awareness. The authors compared children with dyslexia with the same age and
reading level control group of children to measure the affect and strength of
correlation between verbal short memory, rime awareness and phonemic awareness
on a child s word reading abilities.
Summary
Various researchers have found that there is a relationship between phonemic
awareness, rime awareness and verbal short term memory. Melby LervГ Ґg, Lyster,
amp; Hulme (2012) wanted to take their studies a step further and establish the
strength of the relation between the three variables mentioned

Acid Base Disturbance Report
Acid Base Disturbances is any condition which results in changes of the extracellular
fluid pH from the normal range of pH 7.35 7.45. ... Because the blood pH and the
ECF pH are almost always equivalent, disturbances of acid base homeostasis are
diagnosed by measuring blood pH. When the pH is below 7.35, the condition is
called acidosis; when the pH is above 7.45, it is called alkalosis В ќ. (VanPutte, 2013).
Acidosis or Alkalosis states are categorized as being either metabolic or respiratory
so the imbalance or condition maybe respiratory acidosis, or respiratory alkalosis,

Financial Sectors Of The Indian Economy Essay
1.1 INDUSTRY PROFILE
Financial sectors all over the world is going through the process of transformation
such as, liberalization, technological innovations and deregulation. The evolving
financial system in India has been interlinked with the growth of the macro
economics. This change allows financial institutions to bring in assortment of new
product and services into the economy. Financial institutions play a prominent role in
stimulating the economic growth in a country, they help to mobilize the savings and
channelize the funds as investments into the sectors which requires it. Government
has played a prominent role in creation and structuring the financial system in the
country. The government also controls and influences the flow of credit in an
economy and its direction through its fiscal policies.
Since the liberalization, privatization and globalization (L.P.G) in the early 1990 s
the Indian economy has had a deep impact on its financial services sector, it is during
this L.P.G era the reform s in financial sector were initiated by the government of
India to meet the challenges of complex financial architecture. This reform ensured
that the new Indian financial system will forge out into a transparent, strong and
resilient system. At present the Indian economy grew by 7.3 percent, a full year
growth for the fiscal year ending in march based on the statistical method based of
gross value added (GVA) keeping base year as 2011 2012 as against 2005.

The Causes Of Bacterial Meningitis Worldwide
Neisseria meningitidis has been around for hundreds of years and has been one of
the major causes of bacterial meningitis worldwide. This non endospore forming
diplococcus, aerobic, gram negative bacterial pathogen is exclusive only to humans
and is a challenge worldwide. Over 500,000 cases occur each year which makes it in
the top ten infectious cause of death worldwide [7]. Physical and mental side effects
are often a permanent outcome for patient that survive Neisseria meningitidis.
Neisseria meningitidis is located in the back of the nose or throat in around 1 to 10,
which show no signs of disease transient microbiota. When a patient that carries this
bacterium, but doesn t show any signs, is know as a asymptomatic carrier. When
traveling to Hajj, a pilgrimage to Mecca, a vaccination must be proven. Medical
conditions such as myeloma, alcoholism, renal disease, chronic lymphocytic
leukemia and splenectomy increases congenital deficiencies of immunoglobulins,
which predisposes the patient to being susceptible to Neisseria meningitidis. Large
outbreaks of this bacterium can occur when the combination of clonal and increased
transmission occur. Abnormalities in bactericidal activity of human sera is another
characteristic in a humans that make them more susceptible to the bacterium [7]. To
predispose a patient to the bacterium is the absence of bactericidal antibodies (an
antibody that kills the bacterial agent), the presence of blocking antibodies (an
antibody that

Analysis Of Saga Of The Sioux
Traditional religious beliefs center around Wakan Tanka, their god and creator of
all things. They were also a very spiritual group and believed that all things have

Love Against All Odds in Stephanie Meyer s Twilight Essay
I d rather die than stay away from you. Bella tells Edward. Twilight is a romantic
novel based on the relationship of a girl named Bella Swan and a vampire named
Edward Cullen. The author, Stephenie Meyer, bases her story on the life of Bella
and how she met and fell in love with Edward in the city of Forks, Washington.
Stephenie Meyers inspiration for Twilightcame to her after a dream on June 2, 2003,
that involved a human girl and a sparkling vampire sitting in a meadow. Twilightwas
published in 2005 to great success and critical acclaim; it resulted in a saga of four
books. This story has a very interesting plot and main themes which may attract
people to read it. Twilight is the story of the relationship between a human and a...

Bella and Edward couldn t prevent themselves from falling in love with each other.
Bella fell in love with a vampire and Edward with a human; something thought to
be impossible and unmoral, but they didn t care. They believed their love was
more powerful and important than what others thought or believed with morally
right. Also, Bella is supposed to be Edward s prey but their love can withstand his
urge of sucking her blood. They go against all odds because their love is supposed
to be forbidden. Decision making and choices are other themes in Twilight. The
Cullens are the first family of vampires to make the choice of not suppressing to
the natural desire of human blood. Also, Bella and Edward make the choice of
being in a relationship aside from the fact Edward could be urged to kill Bella at
any point. Bella decides to put herself at risk and Edward to put the one he loves at
risk. Their love is what pushes them to make these decisions and choices
throughout the whole story. Hence, Bella says she wants to be a vampire because
of her love for Edward, but Edward made the decision of not making her a vampire.
Edward believes he s a monster and doesn t want Bella to become like him. Twilight
is an intriguing story that keeps its audience hooked by the end of the story. The plot
and central themes make the story entertaining and a good read for anyone who is
into romantic, fictitious novels. Love

Humanitarian Intervention Does Not Become A
Smokescreen...
ensure humanitarian intervention does not become a smokescreen for bullies (Weiss,
2004: 142). This is precisely what the ICISS has achieved with its report
Responsibility to Protect.
As has been echoed in this essay the ICISS focuses on the notion that with
sovereignty comes responsibility, specifically the responsibility to protect human
rights (Evans et al., 2001: 12). Thus, it is primarily the duty of the state to uphold
human rights. However, Where a population is suffering serious harm, as a result of
internal war, insurgency, repression or state failure, and the state in question is
unwilling or unable to halt or avert it, the principle of non intervention yields to the
international responsibility to protect (Evans et al., 2001: XI). It is here were the
emphasis is drawn to those who need the intervention rather than the nation
intervening (Weiss, 2004: 138). This is important, as intervention is no longer a right
of the intervening state (i.e. in so far as they can exploit the situation) but rather a
responsibility of states to protect those most vulnerable, hence the shift from the
terminology of intervention to responsibility .
What this framework consequently does is make the correct weigh up between
sovereignty and human rights by creating a connection between the two (Sarkin,
2008: 52). Moreover, this allows for real and effective action to be undertaken for
those who require it. It accomplishes this by a precise framework for both the criteria

The Role Of Privilege In Health Care
Power, privilege, and health all mean three different things and are probably
thought of as unrelated; however, in the health care arena, these three words are
significantly correlated. In the article, Levels of racism: A theoretic framework
and a gardener s tale by Phyllis Jones, she describes a gardener planting red flowers
and pink flowers. The gardener prefers the color red, so he plants the red flowers in
rich and fertile soil, while planting the pink flowers in rocky, old soil. When the red
flowers grow nice and beautiful, they appear more beautiful than the pink, thus
causing them to think they are better, if human. The pink flowers, if human, then feel
ashamed and less worthy. The moral of the article was to draw attention to the... Show

Amongst Healthy People 2020 s goal planning, they created social determinants,
which are ... conditions in the environments in which people are born, live, learn,
work, play, worship, and age that affect a wide range of health, functioning, and
quality of life outcomes and risks (Social Determinants of Health, 2017). Power,
privilege, and health all play a role in these social determinants. For example, one of
the determinants is Availability of community based resources in support of
community living and opportunities for recreational and leisure time activities
(Social Determinants of Heath, 20175). If a community has more power, that
increases their chance for bringing in more money. If a community has more money,
they can afford to have all these community resources mentioned. According to the
Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), everyone s health can benefit from
physical activity (Physical Activity and Health, 2015). So having the power and
privileges helps communities with maintaining overall good health. However,
communities that do not have the power or privileges to afford these community
based resources that promote activity are at a risk of not having the best health. In
order to fix this problem, the government would have to get in control and help the
communities that are lacking the resources or privileges

The Difference Between A Eighteen Year Old And A Years
Old
What s the difference between a fifteen year old and a sixteen year old? Freedom.
At the age of fifteen, you re given the training wheels needed to reach freedom; also
known as your permit. Nothing is as cool to a fifteen year old as driving your mom
and dad around for the first couple of months. The roles have finally been reversed.
Mark Wahlberg says it best in the Other Guys, I m a peacock and you gotta let me
fly. Getting your permit is the first step to reaching the ultimate goal: getting your
license. At the age of sixteen, your training wheels are taken off and your journey to
independence has started. To some, this might sound easy. From personal
experience, I can say it s not. You have to endure hours of studying, practicing, and
even tests. In the end, the hard work is worth it. You are achieving the goal that
every kid looks forward to. Drivingisn t a task that anyone can just start doing.
Driving a 3 ton vehicle that can take someone from point A to point B in no time
isn t easy. The first step into becoming a driver, like the first step when building
something, is reading the manual. The magazine sized directional discusses
common traffic laws, how to park a car up or downhill, and how driving a car
works in general. I remember when I was first starting to research about getting my
license, I was extremely overwhelmed with the amount of reading I was going to
have to do. However rather than getting scared and backing down, I remained
dedicated and faced

Labour Party in Britain in the Years 1924-31
Labour Party in Britain in the Years 1924 31
Historians have debated just how competent the two Labour administrations were
between 1924 and 1931. Governments are normally only considered competent if
they have managed the economy efficiently, prevented widespread corruption and
maintained law and order. Labour came to power at the end of 1923, a time when
the Conservatives and other right wing groups were spreading vicious rumours about
Socialism. MacDonald was determined to disprove these fears, particularly Churchill
s jibe that a Labour Party would not be fit to govern . Since the Prime Minister is an
integral part of a government, it will also be important to look at the competency of ...

Other historians have stressed Labour s poor industrial relations during their first
term in office, claiming that this indicates a degree of governmental incompetence.
MacDonald was determined that the Labour Party would be representative of the
nation as a whole, and not merely a political wing of the TUC. Therefore,
MacDonald did not want to be seen as giving in to strikers or other industrial activists.
In February 1924 there was a national dock strike for higher wages which ended in
success for the workers, but MacDonald had been planning to use troops to unload
ships had it continued. The following month he proclaimed a state of emergency
during a London tram and bus strike. Some historians have argued that the fact that
MacDonald was determined to stand up against the TUC and strikers suggests that his
party was competent at running the country, since it was not simply pandering to the
industrial movement. But others claim that MacDonald was unable to deal with the
strikes sufficiently, making his government look weak and incompetent.
Some historians have argued that the cabinet of the first Labour government was
chosen poorly, with many of the ministers knowing little or nothing about their
departments. For example, J.H Thomas, the former railwaymen s leader, became
Colonial Secretary despite knowing

The Cold War In The 1980 s
The Cold War was a tumultuous period for the Soviet Union, a time of mutually
assured destruction. The Soviet Union achieved a high rate of economic growth
from the end of World War II until 1975. During this period a transformation
occurred from a semifeudal, underdeveloped nation to a developed, industrial society
[...], with high life expectancies and literacy rates comparable to Western
industrialized nations (van der Veen, 122). However, during the 1980 s a number of
domestic issues relating to the serious decline in the economic and social
infrastructure, and the increasing gap in technology between the West and East came
to the forefront of political discussions (Valerie Bunce, 223). In 1985 Mikhail

Freedom For White And The Pursuit Of Happiness
Throughout antiquity there have been powerful men and women that with one act
change the course of history forever. The men and women had become unsettled
by the ideals of the time and decided that the only way to get something done is to
do it yourself. Whether by chance or choice the actions taken by those brave men
and woman helped to shape the very diverse and free world of today. However, in
history, only one person effected the world in such a profound way that without them
a country would not have been formed and the racial barriers that held generations in
chains would have never been broken. The person was Crispus Attucksand unknown
to him at the time, he became the voice of freedom for white and African Americans
alike.
America had been oppressed by England since the beginning of its creation and
sought freedom from their rule. Americans fought and died for the sake of life,
liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Those very principles helped to construct the
Declaration of Independence, which declared liberty and equality to every man. As
God as the enforcer of these natural rights, independence would be granted to
America and the citizens that lived there. Nevertheless, the liberty and equality that is
man s birth right never fully extended to all men. African Americans citizens were not
granted those rights that whites were given so easily. The same African Americans
that fought alongside with the rebels for independence, would not be granted their
own freedom

Gymnastics is a competitive sport in which gymnasts perform acrobatic feats such as

Rhythmic gymnastics:
Rhythmic gymnastics is currently exclusive to women in the Olympic Games.
Women compete both individually and as a team using five different approaches

Trampoline is only a very recent division of gymnastics to be added in the Olympic

play or Italian opera performed in hip hugging jeans or baggy t shirts; or imagine
the period musical 1776, produced by the wonderful Stuart Ostrow, performed in
the groovy attire of the 1970s. These performances would seem completely out of
place and confusing. One would not be able to grasp the completeness of the story

Defining each character separately allowing the audience the ability to follow a
storyline with a conceptualized look defined prior to a performance was, and is
needed as part of preproduction preparations. Early performers were generally
male, therefore costuming was needed for gender disguise so as to create the
illusion of the opposite sex. In Asia, the men would dress up as women. Young
men also played women in the plays during the 1500s and 1600s. Many of these
young teenage boys were very sickly and often died at a very young age. This was
a direct result of skin eating diseases caused by the white, led based face paint they
were forced to wear during performances; a very sad and gruesome ending to such a
short life. Costuming also helps create other character building imagery such as age.
The leading characters will always have more detail and design to make them stand
out and relate a sense of trust to the audience. Styles and technique have changed
significantly over the centuries but have maintained basic principles of clothing
design yet geared towards pushing the out the character s personality and traits in its
appearance. Many people simply show up to musicals and often take the costumes
for granted and concentrate only the performance of the actors. Many people don t

A Feminist Analysis of Cloud Nine Essay
Feminist Analysis of Cloud Nine
In 1979, Caryl Churchill wrote a feminist play entitled Cloud Nine. It was the result
of a workshop for the Joint Stock Theatre Group and was intended to be about
sexual politics. Within the writing she included a myriad of different themes ranging
from homosexuality and homophobia to female objectification and oppression.
Churchill clearly intended to raise questions of gender, sexual orientation, and race
as ideological issues; she accomplished this largely by cross dressing and role
doubling the actors, thereby alienating them from the characters they play. (Worthen,
807) The play takes part in two acts; in the first we see Clive, his family, friends, and

Her daughter, Victoria, is a child so she is virtually classless, while Maud is the
mother in law and part of the upper class. Ellen is the governess and part of the
servant/working class, and Mrs. Saunders, while part of the upper class, is also a
widow, which sets her apart from the other women; she is independent and a
threat. We are reminded in several places of the social classes within the story; an
obvious example would be when Maud tells Betty of Ellen You let that girl forget
her place (Churchill, 812). In the second act, there are four female characters; Betty
and Victoria are carried over from act one while Lin and Cathy are new. The classes
the women fall under have changed by this act. They are no longer in the Victorian era
and are all part of the middle to lower upper class economically speaking. The
hierarchy is still present, but it isn t nearly as apparent as it is in first act.
Class consciousness is central to economic, social, and cultural institutions (Bryant
Bertail, 2). A good example of this tenet can be found in the character of Maud.
Maud is primarily in Act One of the play, she is Betty s mother and serves and
something of a guide to Betty; she often informs Betty how the proper Victorian
woman would react given a situation. In the third scene of Act One, Maud has a lot
of dialogue in which her beliefs can be seen. For example, when speaking to Betty

Christian Overview Essay
Introduction Whether or not we recognize it, each person has a worldview. In
essence, each person has implicit assumptions as well as prejudices about the
world, which in most occasions influence the manner in which we regard situations
around us. Generally, a worldview is a kind of lenses that corrupts our view of the
world around us. Singularly, our worldview is shaped by our level of education and
cultural background, as well as upbringing among many other environmental factors.
For most people, their worldview is nothing more than what they have observed in
the environment. To these kinds of people, they wouldn t be in a position to provide
a rationale reason of their beliefs to others. Christian worldview As defined in ()...

Ordinarily, the reason behind that is their worldview; which is an inclination to
the manner in which they see things, as either the result of accidental happenings
or God s doings (). A number of people acquire their worldview genetically.
Moreover for others, they acquire their worldview from the people they interact
with regularly, such as their family along with friends, together with the media as
well as life s experiences. Even though, a few followers of Christ affirm strongly to
have developed their worldview, direct from the Holy Scriptures that is debatable.
Most likely, they have determined with certainty to interpret scriptures with a
worldview. In this way, even whatever they find in scripture is shaped by what they
prognosticate. For the most part, worldviews vary with time contingent upon
general environmental factors. Despite some people having a single worldview
their entire life, for others, their worldviews undergo gradual transformation. A
single worldview is possible particularly for community and tribal cultures.
Nevertheless, in modern world the worldview of a person is more likely to be in a
state of dynamism. This is true because in most occasions, our worldview transforms
in much the same manner in which it was gotten; by experience as well as
interactions. With reference to experiences: wherever a person continuously
experiences situations that are beyond explanation, such a person is probably likely

this place started to make fun of Paul s date which leads to Paul getting into a fight
with a man and this scuffle ends with Paul going to jail for the night. Norman and
Paul have an awkward confrontation the day after because Norman was just trying
to help Paul out and Paul did not want the help. This decision could have made Paul
seem like a hero if he would have handled it correctly, but instead he handled it
wrong which led to a tragic resolution for the character. The two brothers grow a
bond when Paul catches a giant fish and you could see that Norman was really proud
of his little brother that he worked hard to accomplish something. This is one of the
last happy moments that these two brothers share as Norman finds out that his
brother Paul died in a fight almost a month later. Norman finds somewhat reassurance
in that Paul had died while something he enjoyed doing, fighting. Norman has trouble
in accepting the death of brother as he always wonders what he could have done to
save his brother. The water haunts him as it reminds him of his brother, showing that
Norman doesn t accept the

The, Or Involuntary Musical Imagery
Introduction
Earworms, or involuntary musical imagery (INMI, as cited in Liikkanen, 2008) is a
phenomenon where a song plays in one s own mind repeatedly in an involuntary
manner. It has been researched that popular songs are the most dominant earworms ,
but this experiment has intentions to analyse earworm data from songs having
varying levels of popularity and experience for a variety of resulting data. The aim
for this experiment is how likely a song would become an earworm via two
conditions. Firstly, on how much the participant likes the song after listening to it 6
times, or the estimated amount of times the song has been listened to. This was
measured by the amount of earworm episodes and their length of time. Previous
research has outlined potential parallels of INMI and other memory types, or perhaps
an association on tempo recollection of an earworm and the sensorimotor system .
Previous research
A previous published experiment Tracking the Tempo of Involuntary Musical
Imagery in Everyday Life has introduced new ways to research the INMI
phenomenon, and this paper is trying to achieve something similar. The aim there
was to find how accurate a person can recall the tempo of an INMI and whether an
INMI was affected by an effective state. A conventional approach over four days
was used for the method of self reporting data where a participant uses a watch to
record the tempo via tapping it, and a paper diary with a multitude of data to fill out
in regards of an

The Risk and Benefits of Outsourcing Supply Chain and Risk Management.
How Boeing 787 Supply Chain Issues Affected Other Industries?
Debates between business professionals regarding risk and benefits of outsourcing is
becoming increasingly heated with particular focus on risks as unanticipated costs,
potential for setbacks, integration difficulties, quality or benefits as minimize overall
cost, focus on other business area, meet customer demand and flexibility. However,
being prepared, done the research properly, hire the right company can bring plenty of
benefits to an organization looking to outsource different aspects of their business.
Rudzki, Smock, Katzorke, and Stewart (2005, pg.8) cover the significant importance
of outsourcing as part of supply chain management and acknowledge the enormous
role on raising customer satisfaction, driving higher profit margins, and fueling
growth otherwise known as increasing company profitability. To understand how the
risks and benefits of outsourcing could affect the company profitability, extended
supply chain and how cost becomes value needs to be study. This paper will examine
Boeing 787 Dreamliner product development and unconventional supply chain
supply where best suppliers were considered partners and shared the risks of this
product development.
Literature Review
Krajewski et al. (2016) stated that creating an effective supply chain involves the
recognition of external competitive advantage pressure as well as internal

Indi The Fastest Growing Segment Of The Ites
Industry Profile:
In India, Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) is the fastest growing segment of the
ITES (Information Technology Enabled Services) industry. Factors such as economy
of scale, business risk mitigation, cost advantage; utilization improvement and
superior competency have all lead to the growth of the Indian BPO industry. Business
process outsourcing in India, which started around the mid 90s, has now grown by
leaps and bounds.
India is now the world s favored market for BPO companies, among other
competitors, such as, Australia, China, Philippines and Ireland. The BPO boom in
India is credited to cheap labor costs and India s huge talent pool of skilled, English
speaking professionals. Research by the National Association of Software Services
and Companies (NASSCOM) has revealed that quality orientation among leading
BPO companies, 24/7 services, India s unique geographic location and the investor
friendly tax structure in India have all made the BPO industry in India very popular.
The industry has been growing rapidly. The BPO sector in India is estimated to
have reached a 54 per cent growth in revenue and The demand for Indian BPO
services has been growing at an annual growth rate of 50%. The BPO industry in
India has provided jobs for over 74,400 Indians. This number is continuing to grow
on a yearly basis. The Indian BPO sector is soon to employ over 1.1 million Indians.
70% of India s BPO industry s revenue is from contact centers, 20% from data

Social Criticism Of Abortion
According to Wikipedia, abortion is the premature exit of the products of conception
(the fetus, fetal membranes, and placenta) from the uterus. It is the loss of a
pregnancy and does not refer to why the pregnancy was lost. Abortion is a very
contentious issue and the attitude towards it has always been and is still very
controversial. It has caused uncounted deaths and several violent confrontations
between the supporters of the two separate parties. Pro life supporters advocate that
everyone has the right to life, even Fetus, and Pro choice supporters argue that the
right to abortionis absolute. In Abortion, No more Apologies, Katha Pollitt states
abortion as a normal part of a woman s reproductive life, one that should be... Show

Pollitt also insisted that woman should not have anyone s permission to make
healthcare decisions. Contraception is one of these decisions that woman should be
making with her doctor. She referred to the example of Trust Woman, a popular
motto in the pro choice movement. The movement gave the absolute right and
freedom for every woman in the abortion issue. It also supported women to make
their own decisions, no one else can make a better decision (p.15). Women seeking to
terminate a pregnancy understand what s going on. They don t need a patronizing
reminder from politicians, or difficult rules imposed by doctors, or even ethics from
church or family. They only need to trust themselves and take the right decision
according to their life, health, and body. Pollitt has even gone further with defending
abortion as a constitutional right. The Supreme Court has ruled on it, in 1973, in Roe
v. Wade case, which affirms the legality of a woman s right to have an abortion under
the Fourteenth Amendment. Why is it then, that women who seek an abortion, are
treated like criminals? Laws prohibiting abortion prevent women from making the
personal choices that enable them to live the lifestyle they want, reducing their
ability to contribute effectively to the society. Moreover, the ideal abortion law,
according to Pollitt, is a blank piece of paper. She approaches the

The Importance Of A Quality Project At An Early Stage
Essay
Briefing is the process by which a client informs others of his or her needs,
aspirations and desires, either informally or formally, and a brief is a formal
document which sets out a client s requirements in detail (CIB, 1999, p.5). As OP
has a vast amount of experience of erecting towers in Toronto they should be more
than capable of outlining their explicit requirements accurately in a project brief.
They will also be well aware that any changes during detailed design, or even worse
during construction, could have a detrimental effect on the project, possibly
extending the project competition date or even requiring a revised planning
application and will almost certainly carry an extra cost (see Figure 2). Figure 2:
Changes during later stages of the project are likely to be more costly than at the
outset. (CIB, 1999, p.8). This being said, OP must realise the importance of
supplying a quality project brief to their consultants at an early stage. This will
require them to commit a lot of upfront resources to the project to ensure the design
matches the client s vision. The process will begin with a statement of need , which
will outline vaguely the aims and objectives of the project. For example, OP would
have outlined at this stage their desire to construct a tower in the heart of Toronto s
financial district. They may have approached the market with the opportunity to
tenant the property. The statement of need is then developed through to a strategic
brief.

Blood Heart Disease
The heart is a muscular organ that pumps blood to continuously throughout your
body. The heart is the center of the circulatory system. This system has blood
vessels, such as arteries, veins, and capillaries. The blood vessels carry blood to and
from all areas of the body. An electrical system regulates your heartand uses electrical
signals to contact the walls of the heart. When the heart walls contract, bloodpumps
into the circulatory system. The heart chambers work to ensure that blood flows in
the right direction. The heart is vital to your health and everything that goes on in
your body. Without the pumping action, blood cannot circulate within the body. The
blood carries oxygen and nutrients that your organs need to work properly. Blood...

A lack of physical activity can worsen other heart disease risk factors such as high
blood pressure, high blood cholesterol, high triglyceride levels, diabetes, and
overweight. It is very important for adults and children to participant in physical
activity on a daily basis. Some experts advise children and youth to reduce
watching TV to be able to have physical activity. Being physically active is one of
the most important things to do to have a healthy heart. An unhealthy diet can
raise your risk for heart disease. Food high in saturated, trans fat, and cholesterol
raise LDL cholesterol. Saturated fats are found in some meats, dairy products,
chocolate, backed goods, deep fried and processed foods. It is important to limit
food in high in sodium and added sugars. Added sugars will give you extra calories
without nutrients like vitamins and materials. This will also increase the risk of
heart disease. Stress and anxiety may contribute to the development of heart disease.
It can trigger your arteries to tighten and raise your blood pressure. Stress also may
indirectly raise the risk for heart disease. Doing physical activity helps reduce the risk
of having

Lidar Project
LiDAR is a remote sensing survey method that improved upon the advances of
laser altimeter data by being able to model fuel parameters. Models depicting forest
fire behavior are invaluable to resource managers. There are several forest canopy
structures that are particularly effective at modeling fire behavior (Peterson, 2013).
These canopy metrics include height, fuel weight, base height and bulk density
(Andersen et al, 2005). High resolution LiDAR technology enabled large areas of
forest to be measured three dimensionally (Sima et al, 2014). After the LiDAR data
were collected from either a stationary platform or mounted to an aircraft, statistical
regressions could develop numerous predictive models that mapped fuel parameters.

K means clustering works in this capacity by portioning n number of observations
into k number of clusters. Each n is associated with a k based on the mean. The
analysis is complete when each observation is assigned a cluster that is closest to its
arithmetic mean (Nekola, 2004). K means clustering results in several clusters which
can then be assigned to tree, shrub, understory or other related layers. The technology
used to create such DEM s began with early laser survey techniques. Remote sensing
of vegetation advanced significantly with the widespread implementation of laser
scanners. Laser altimeters mounted on aircraft were used to measure vegetation and
surface patterns. The early altimeters were pulsed lasers that could transmit and
receive several thousand pulses per second. A portable computer onboard the aircraft
collected the digital data from the altimeter. The data could later be analyzed to
determine patterns of vegetative cover, patchiness and vegetation height. In Weltz et
al (1994) tested laser altimeter derived canopy cover and vegetative height against
field data made using the line intercept transect method (Eberhardt, 1978). Weltz et al
determined that the altimeter measurements were not significantly different from the
field data. However, canopy cover was consistently overestimated by under 0.3
meters. Early airborne laser scanners were effective at measuring stand and canopy
height (Gaveau, 2003). Mean
