The truth is not always present in the news. Reporters make mistakes, but when that
wrong information gets to spread the problem begins. The media is in a race on
putting out information. The danger is that there is no checking to make sure the
information is true. Media is in a cycle of the news getting a hold of an alternative
fact, the media spreading it, a powerful sourcerestating the information, and the
general audience seeing that story as fact. That information can then be turned into

giving because they are catchy. This does not make them accurate. When a powerful
source gets the fake news, that is when there is a problem. Technology increases the

During the 1800 s to 1850 s, slavery was undergoing a huge development in which
helped the nation to grow into what it is today. The United States was split into two
sections, the north and south, over the dispute of slavery. The south sought to further
slavery while the north was in favor of abolishing slavery. Around 1858, Abraham
Lincolnand Stephen Douglas, two politicians with completely different views on
slavery fought each other with politicians trying to win the presidency election of
1860. This was known as the Great Debates of 1858 .
Slavery during the late 1800 s was at its highest peak; almost 1 out of 4 citizens
had slaves. Slavery has become very popular in the southern states, working them to
the very death as laborers, maids, sex, etc. but slavery in the northern states there

states wanted to abolish all sorts of slavery throughout the nations although there

The document Common Sense was written in 1776 by a man named Thomas
Paine. His main goal was to explain why the colonists needed independence from
Great Britain. The King had refused to take actions to help the colonists. He had
also imposed taxes and robbed them of their natural born rights. This angered the
colonists making them want to revolt against Britain as well. The way Thomas
Paine worded Common Sense made colonists feel that no answers but his were
correct. He accomplished this by using multiple rhetorical devices. Paine often asks
questions, but then quickly gave his own answer, along with asking questions that
are left for speculation. The most influential devices used by Thomas Paine were
hypophoras and rhetorical questions in Common Sense to persuade Americans into

The soliloquy spoken by Hamlet in Act IV, scene IV illustrates a remarkable shift in
Hamlet s personality. Up until this point, Hamlet has been an extremely indecisive
