INTRODUCTION ETPB was established in 1960 with its headquarters in Lahore to handle the Evacuee Trust Properties / Land left behind by the Sikh/Hindus who emigrated to India during partition in 1947–1948. Act (Management & Disposal) No. XIII of 1975 is followed for the management and disposal of ET Property/Land.

4. BACKGROUND The Nehru-Liaqat Pact (April 1950) and Pant Mirza Agreement (1955) to preserve the rights of minorities made the ETPB a Federal Subject that was always covered by a number of Acts and Ordinances. According to Section 6 of the Act, the Federal Government must vest in all Evacuee Trust Properties.

OBJECTIVES To supervise and manage all Evacuee Trust Land/Property attached to Charitable, Religious, or Educational Trusts or Institutions, or any properties included in the "Trust Pool," as well as to lease out agricultural land, rent out ET Property, demolish unauthorized structures, and recover ET Land/Property from unauthorized possession.

The Evacuee Trust Board was first established with the goal of promoting compassion and harmony among all people, regardless of religion, creed, or sect. It has 6 official & 11 unofficial members in its Board.

9. AREA OF FOCUS The main area of focus of the Evacuee Trust Board is to look after the temples and land left over by Sikhs and Hindus who migrated to India during partition in 1947 and 1948. The major focus of Evacuee Trust board is to manage religious places for Sikhs and Hindus and to facilitate them on their religious festivals. Evacuee trust’s shrines branch is made to facilitate other religious minorities of Pakistan to participate in religious festivals and rituals.

10. WORKING Subject to any instructions that may be issued by the Federal Government, the Board shall have overall supervision and control over all evacuee trust property. The Board shall take whatever actions it deems necessary to ensure that the property is managed, maintained, and disposed of in accordance with the provisions of this Act and any rules, schemes, or instructions made or issued there under. 12. How does evacuee trust pays its employees? As per salaries of employees of EPTB are concerned, basically as this trust comes under Ministry of Religious Affairs & Interfaith Harmony (MORA) so it is a public organization. So, as a government employee, their salaries depends upon their scale (Federal Government).

13. Explain the administrative strategy of EPTB concerning its working areas? According to districts, Administrators, Deputy Administrator both having quasi judicial powers, Inspectors, Rent Collectors, security team, other persons for miscellaneous work.

14. What are the sources of revenue? They generate revenue from: Departments/institutions working for them which are present within their complexes. Their allied institutions like schools, hospitals etc. They also get their portion from MORA.

15. Allocation of collected revenue. After receiving rents from departments working within evacuee trust complex, the trust allocates money in each sector depending upon the condition of the property, and budget for that work to be done as well as its execution is decided by the Board (Committee of the board) and with approval of chairman of the ETPB.
