Did you Know?

The Russian Revolution
To understand the The Russian Revolution, let’s go
back during WW1. After the assassination of Franz
Ferdinand in June 1914 by a Serbian, Austria-Hungary
declared war on Serbia (Russia’s ally), which made
Russia enter WW1 in support of Serbia. Everybody
wanted Russia to win, except Lenin, because he
believed that he could overthrow the Tsar and
conquer Russia. Everything was going according to
Lenin, the untrained peasants and workers who make
the Russian army were deserting, the economy was
imploding, there was shortage of food, Russia was
losing. After 3 years, Russia was not in a good state to
fight, and was still losing. Due to this, the peasants
and the workers were angry at Tsar Nicholas II for
getting Russia into war, and several other reasons:
For getting Rasputin taking
power of the royal family,
growing political
opposition, and taking
personal command of the
Russian army.

The Russian Revolution
The workers, the peasants, and even the Russian
army seemed mutiny against the Tsar. So the Tsar
resigned from taking over Russia, abdicating the an
to the Tsarists autocracy, so a new government took
over Tsar place. The government was run by two
political parties, the Petrograd Soviets and the
Provisional government. This led to the Bolshevik
Revolution. Lenin and the Bolsheviks were the
Communist’s party of the Soviet Union. He used a
slogan, which got the people of Russia to like Lenin,
“Peace, Bread, and Land. I promise Peace, Bread, and
Land to all Soviets.”. He also stated the slogan, “All
power to the Soviets.”. After they got the power they
needed, the Bolsheviks took over Russia as the
Leader.
