WHAT IS EVM ???? Electronic voting machine (also known as EVM) is voting using electronic means to either aid or take care of the chores of casting and counting votes an even is designed with two units.

What are the two units of an EVM An EVM is designed with two units: The control unit and the balloting unit. These units are joined together by a cable. The control unit of the EVM is kept with presiding officer or the poling officer.

WHO INVENTED EVM MACHINE The Indian electronic voting machine were developed in 1989 by election commission of India in collaboration with Baharat Electronics Limited and Electronics corporation of India Limited. The Industrial designers of the EVM were faculty members at the industrial design Centre, IIT Bombay.

Advantages of EVM The most important advantage is that the printing of millions of ballot papers can be dispensed with, as only one ballot paper is required for fixing on the balloting unit at each polling station instead of one ballot paper for each individual elector.
