Bias is any opinion that influences a person’s thoughts , feelings , or actions . An author/speaker can be: · biased against something (lean negatively against it); or · bias for/toward something (lean favorably or positively toward it).

When discussing biases in an author's work , it's essential to analyze the text critically to uncover any preferences , assumptions, or judgments that the author may have made, either intentionally or unintentionally.
Types of Bias: 1. For : When the author presents ideas or arguments favoring a particular side, group, or perspective. 2. Against : When the author unfairly criticizes or excludes certain ideas, groups, or perspectives.
