2. Background Pseudoexfoliation syndrome (PXF) is age-related and systemic. Characterized by deposition of fibrillar material in ocular tissues. Can lead to increased IOP and pseudoexfoliation glaucoma (PXFG). PXFG is more aggressive than primary open-angle glaucoma.

4. Aim and Objectives Aim: Compare incidence of exfoliation glaucoma in urban vs rural populations over 1 year. Objectives: - Assess incidence rates. - Identify associated risk factors. - Evaluate clinical characteristics and severity.

5. Methodology Design: Prospective observational cohort study. Sample: 345 participants (172 urban, 173 rural), aged ≥40 years. Sampling: Stratified random sampling from OPD. Diagnosis: Based on clinical signs, IOP, gonioscopy, and field testing.
