Fans and Blowers introduction

Slide Content

Fans and Blowers Fans : Devices that move air or gas with a low-pressure rise, typically used for ventilation, cooling, and air circulation. Blowers : Devices that move air or gas with a moderate pressure rise, used in systems requiring higher air pressure, like furnaces or industrial drying.

Fans: These electrical devices have blades that create a continuous airflow in every direction. Fans are usually smaller than blowers and can move large amounts of air at low pressure. Blowers: These mechanical devices have impellers that channel air in a specific direction. Blowers can move large volumes of air at a moderate pressure setting. Classification Fans Blowers Axial Fans (air flows along the axis) Centrifugal Blowers (air flows radially) Centrifugal Fans (air flows at right angles to the axis) Positive Displacement Blowers (constant volume, high pressure)

Applications Fans : Cooling systems in computers and HVAC systems. Exhaust and ventilation in buildings. Drying applications in industries. Blowers : Industrial vacuum systems. Conveying systems for bulk materials. Combustion air supply in furnaces and boilers.
