LOW VISION PATIENTS ARE THOSE WHOSE VISUAL ACUITY LESS 6/18 AND VISUAL FEILD LESS THAN 10 DEGREE.

3. Introduction A person with low vision is one who has impairment of visual functioning even after treatment of standard refractive correction ,and has visual acuity of less than 6/18 to light perception and/or visual field less than 10 degrees from point of fixation and who is potentially able to use vision for planning and execution of task .

4. Introduction to Filters Filters are “filter out “ the disturbing light and while at the same time allow the useful light to enter the eye. Filters enhance the vision. Filters enhance the contrast.

5. For Therapeutic purpose: Glare Avoidanc e : In patients with the cataract ,ocular albinism,RP(retinitous pigmentosa),vitrous opacities,macular edema etc . Contrast enhancement : In patient with the having ARMD(Age related macular degeneration),RP,Cataract, DR(dieabetic retinopathy), Albinism , cone dystrophy Control for light sensitivity: In patients with the corneal abrasions, uveitis, detached retina, and refrective surgery. .

7. Yellow Filter: For enhancing the contrast and you see the things much more brigter and sharper. used in glaucoma patient ,Albinism,dibeatic retinopathy, pathological myopia, , RP, macular scaring patients.
