What is fire? Combustion or burning , substances combine chemically with oxygen from the air and typically give out bright light, heat, and smoke . How fire is created? Fire is created from a process called combustion. Flames are consisted of carbon dioxide, water vapor, oxygen, and nitrogen.

What should we do to prevent fire and lessen it impact? What should we have? We should plan a Disaster Management , but what is Disaster Management? Disaster Management can be defined as the organization and management of resources and responsibilities for dealing with all natural and man-made emergencies , for preparedness, response and recovery in order to lessen the impact of disasters.

How can we prevent fire? We can prevent fire by checking broken electric outlets that can overheat , keeping away flammable chemicals and storing them in safe places , turning off appliances being used for a long time and put away combustible items from heating appliances.

How to mitigate fire? Avoid excessive and careless use of candles. Do not smoke indoors. Don’t leave your cooking unattended. Don’t leave children with flammable items.

How to Prepare in case of fire? Knowing the fire exit. Preparing first-aid kit. Preparing your GO-bag with full of survival supplies. Knowing the emergency hotlines.

Responding during fire? Run to the fire exit . Evacuate far from the burning building. Help others to go out. Grabbing important things and documents.

Recovering after the fire? Check for injuries or burns. Help injured people from the fire. Using first-aid in case of injuries. Wait for the fire to be gone before returning to the damaged building.
