Free from prison Timothy Leonard

1 thessalonian 5:1-11 The Day of the Lord 5 Now, brothers and sisters, about times and dates we do not need to write to you, 2 for you know very well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night. 3 While people are saying, “Peace and safety,” destruction will come on them suddenly, as labor pains on a pregnant woman, and they will not escape.4 But you, brothers and sisters, are not in darkness so that this day should surprise you like a thief. 5 You are all children of the light and children of the day. We do not belong to the night or to the darkness. 6 So then, let us not be like others, who are asleep, but let us be awake and sober. 7 For those who sleep, sleep at night, and those who get drunk, get drunk at night. 8 But since we belong to the day, let us be sober, putting on faith and love as a breastplate, and the hope of salvation as a helmet. 9 For God did not appoint us to suffer wrath but to receive salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ. 10 He died for us so that, whether we are awake or asleep, we may live together with him. 11 Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.

That Passage is reminding us A) Dont be lazy Proverbs 6:6-8 (NIV) "Go to the ant, you sluggard; consider its ways and be wise! It has no commander, no overseer or ruler, yet it stores its provisions in summer and gathers its food at harvest." b) Be watchful Proverbs 13:4 (NIV): A sluggard’s appetite is never filled, but the desires of the diligent are fully satisfied.

Be Wacthfull 1)Spiritual Readiness: 2)Guarding Against Temptation: 3) Prayerfulness: 4) Staying Faithful:

Be Wacthfull 1) Spiritual Readiness: Being watchful means staying spiritually alert, always prepared for Christ’s return. In Matthew 24:42 (NIV), Jesus says, "Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come." This encourages believers to live in a constant state of readiness, avoiding complacency and distractions. 2) Guarding Against Temptation: 1 Peter 5:8 (NIV) says, "Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour." This calls Christians to be mindful of spiritual dangers and resist the temptations or influences that could lead them away from God. 3) Prayerfulness: Watchfulness is often associated with prayer. Colossians 4:2 (NIV) instructs believers, "Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful." Here, prayer serves as a tool to remain vigilant in faith, maintaining a strong relationship with God and being aware of His will. 4) Staying Faithful: To be watchful is also to remain steadfast in faith and to resist falling away. 1 Corinthians 16:13 (NIV) says, "Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong." This emphasizes the need to be vigilant in maintaining faith, standing firm in the face of challenges.

Question What does true freedom mean to you?

Free From Prison Isaiah 61:1 (NIV) " The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me,because the Lord has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor.He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners." on me = Jesus

How did we know Jesus is god 1) Miracle Jesus performed miracles that His followers saw as evidence of His divine authority. Some of these miracles include: Raising the dead (John 11:1-44), Calming storms ( Mark 4:35-41), Forgiving sins (Mark 2:5-7). In Jewish belief, only God could forgive sins, so Jesus' act of forgiving sins was seen as divine authority.

The Title was given to Jesus Emmanuel: In Matthew 1:23, Jesus is called "Emmanuel," meaning "God with us." In Philippians 2:9-11, Paul states that Jesus has been given the name that is above every name, "Lord," a title used for God in the Old Testament.

3)Fulfillment of Old Testament Prophecies Jesus fulfilled Old Testament prophecies about the coming of God in human form: Isaiah 9:6: "For to us a child is born, to us a son is given... And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace." Micah 5:2: Foretells that the ruler of Israel, whose origins are from eternity, would be born in Bethlehem.

Free From Prison = Freedom from sin and have eternal life Add description PART ONE

Church , Teacher desciples in the world We should share this message with the world, letting others know about the love and salvation found in Jesus. Dont be the blind Guides In Matthew 23:16 (NIV), Jesus says, "Woe to you, blind guides!" This phrase refers to leaders or teachers who are supposed to show others the right way but are spiritually blind themselves, leading people astray rather than toward the truth.

Spritual Lesson Jesus is the qualification to enter External life A) Watch and Prepare: No one knows the time of judgment. Only God knows. If someone claims to know when the end will come, that is false. The Bible never mentions a specific time. Jesus is coming, and that means the world will face its end. Presentations are communication tools that can be used as demonstrations. B) Ever follow God with all your heart and soul by obey his teching

John 11: Believe in me shall never die This passage emphasizes the promise of eternal life through faith in Jesus. When Jesus says, "Whoever believes in me shall never die," He is speaking of spiritual life, not physical life. While our bodies will eventually die, those who believe in Jesus will never experience spiritual death or separation from God. Instead, they will have eternal life with Him. Jesus, in this context, is comforting Martha after the death of her brother, Lazarus, reminding her and all believers that faith in Him offers the ultimate hope of resurrection and eternal life beyond death. Personal stories I was sleeping when I saw a spirit come to take my life away. I was afraid and asked myself if I had done anything wrong. I was terrified. Then, I spoke to them in the name of Jesus. When they heard this, they ran away and never came back. Satan's goal in the world is to lead everyone away from God and into destruction, ultimately aiming to drag as many people as possible to hell.

After we become christian what else we need to do The phrase "amend your ways" appears in the Bible in Jeremiah 7:3 (NIV), where God, through the prophet Jeremiah, says: "This is what the Lord Almighty, the God of Israel, says: Reform your ways and your actions, and I will let you live in this place." (Some translations use "amend your ways.")

Meaning This call to "amend your ways" is a message of repentance and change. It means to correct behavior, turn away from sin, and align one's life with God's will. In the context of the book of Jeremiah, God was warning the people of Judah to turn from their wickedness, idolatry, and unjust practices. He was giving them an opportunity to repent and live righteously, with the promise that doing so would spare them from the consequences of their rebellion.

Reminding The phrase is a reminder that true repentance involves more than feeling sorry for wrong doing . it requires a genuine change in attitude, actions, and a return to living according to God's standards. It’s a call to reform and make one's life pleasing to God.

Homework Activity: Write a journal entry as if you were Peter, recounting your experience of being set free from prison by the angel. Reflect on what that moment meant for your faith. Share it to Facebook , Ig and youtube

Ending Throughout the Bible, God is portrayed as the ultimate deliverer, rescuing His people not only from physical captivity but, more importantly, from the spiritual prison of sin and death. From Joseph's liberation in Genesis (Genesis 41:14) to the miraculous release of Paul and Silas in the New Testament (Acts 16:25-26), God consistently demonstrates His power to free those who trust in Him. The most profound freedom, however, is found through Jesus Christ, who delivers us from the bondage of sin. As Jesus declares in John 8:36, "So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed." This speaks of a greater liberation than any earthly prison: freedom from guilt, shame, and the fear of death. Through Christ's sacrifice on the cross and His resurrection, He offers eternal life to all who believe. In conclusion, true freedom is not just physical but spiritual. Jesus has open the prison doors of sin and invites us to walk in the newness of life, liberated to live under God's grace. This spiritual freedom is available to all who accept His gift of salvation, ensuring eternal life and the end of spiritual captivity.
