Fundamental Position of Arms and Feet Basic Dance Steps

Arms are rounded and are raised in front of waist. Palms are facing in, wrists are relaxed. First Position

Open arms to the sides arms are rounded, palms are facing each other. Second Position

One arm is raised overhead while the other arm is in the second position opened at the side. Third Position Either Right or Left

Arm is raised overhead and the other arm is in the first position. Fourth Position

B oth arms are raised overhead, arms are rounded, palms are facing inward-downward. Fifth Position

Fundamental Position of Feet

Heels together turned out in 45’ angle First Position

Stride stand sideward position, feet about 6 inches apart. Second Position

Heel of one foot touches the instep of the other foot. Third Position

From the third position, slide the front foot diagonally forward and end in a stride stand forward position. Fourth Position

Heel of one foot touches the big toe of the other foot. Fifth Position
