Concept of GBV Gender-based violence (GBV) is defined as acts that harm, threaten, violate, compel, or constrain someone and are rooted in a gendered power structure.

Cont … Sexual violence, which has nothing to do with sexuality, accounts for a sizable portion of gender-based violence. Other forms of gender-based violence include physical, psychological, and economic abuse (UNICEF, 2020).

Cont … Gender-based violence can be perpetrated or survived by both men and women. However, data demonstrate that men perpetrate the vast majority of gender-based violence against women and girls (United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees [UNHCR], 2024).

Strategies for coalition Addressing key stakeholders: Law enforcement agencies, community organizations, healthcare professionals, and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) who specialize in violence prevention will be part of the coalition.

Cont … Addressing common goals and vision Establishment of inclusivity Introducing roles and responsibilities

Cont … Introducing communication channels Ensuring public awareness Monitoring and Evaluation

Conclusion Generally, the above strategies are very essential in forming a coalition to effectively address gender-based violence through collaboration, inclusivity, and advocacy for systemic change.
