Global Warming Presented by: Saima Sohail Presented to: Syeda Iman Venue: Elevate Business Solutions
Objectives: At the end of this presentation audiences will be able to: What is global warming and greenhouse effect? What are causes of Global warming? What are the major impacts of global warming onto the human physical and mental health? How can we reduce the global warming to make the nature man friendly?
Global Warming: Global warming is the unusually rapid increase in Earth's average surface temperature over the past century primarily due to the greenhouse gases released by people burning fossil fuels. These gases trap heat in the atmosphere, leading to changes in climate patterns, rising sea levels, and other environmental impacts.
Greenhouse Effect: Trapped heat warms the Earth's surface and lower atmosphere, creating a stable climate. While the greenhouse effect is essential for maintaining temperatures that support life, human activities like burning fossil fuels have increased greenhouse gas concentrations, enhancing the effect and contributing to global warming.
Causes of Global Warming: Burning Fossil Fuels Deforestation Industrial Activities Agricultural Practices Waste Management: Land Use Changes Energy Production: Transportation:. Increased Use of Refrigerants
Physical Health Impacts Heat-Related Illnesses : Increased risk of heatstroke and exhaustion. Respiratory Problems : Worsening of asthma and lung conditions. Vector-Borne Diseases : Expanded range of diseases like malaria and dengue. Cardiovascular Issues : Higher risk of heart problems due to heat. Food and Water Security : Potential for malnutrition and dehydration. Extreme Weather : Increased injuries and health service disruptions. Allergies : More severe allergic reactions due to increased pollen.
Mental Health Impacts Heat Stress and Anxiety : Elevated stress and irritability from heat. Trauma from Disasters : PTSD and anxiety from extreme weather events. Displacement : Mental health challenges from forced migration. Economic Stress : Increased depression due to financial insecurity. Environmental Grief : Feelings of sadness from environmental degradation.
Make nature more man-friendly and reduce global warming Adopt Renewable Energy Boost Energy Efficiency Protect Forests Practice Sustainable Agriculture Improve Waste Management Promote Public Transport Support Climate Policies Increase Awareness
