DRUG INTERACTION Interaction With Warfarin Licorice Decreases Effectiveness Of Warfarin Increasing Risk Of Clotting Interaction With Digoxin Licorice Decreases Potassium Levels Which Increase Side Effects Of Digoxins It May Altar Prednisolone Plasma Concentration

CONTRAINDICATIONS Licorice might interfere with blood pressure control during and after surgery. Stop taking licorice at least 2 weeks before a scheduled surgery. It may effect the kidneys also .so don’t use it during kidney problems. It may lower the potassium levels in the blood. Thus causing hypokalemia. Licorice has the ability to store water in the body, thus it can make congestive heart failure worse. Surgery: Licorice might interfere with blood pressure control during and after surgery. Stop taking licorice at least 2 weeks before a scheduled surgery. It may also cause problems in the kidneys.so do not take licorice during kidney problems. It may lower the potassium levels in the blood causing hypokalemia. Licorice can store water in the body, thus cause a severe congestive heart failure.so be careful while using.
