Two main layers of the skin

Epidermis Part of the skin that you see Top layer of the skin and is made up of cells that are replaced once a month

Melanin The substance that causes suntans (brownness), is found in the epidermis It protects the skin from sun’s rays

Blackheads Occur when a pore becomes clogged with excess oil and dead skin cells
