Introduction A GPS tracker is a device that uses satellite navigation to locate a person, vehicle, or object. GPS trackers are used for a variety of purposes, including fleet management, asset tracking, and personal safety.

Equipment Hardware Interfacing: Node MCU Application: Thingspeak GPS Neo 6M

ESP NODE MCU NodeMCU  is an open-source firmware and also a development board specially made for IoT -based usage and applications.  It includes firmware that runs on the  ESP8266 Wi-Fi   SoC from Espressif Systems, flexible usage, and works on 5volt. NodeMCU has 128 KB RAM and 4MB of Flash memory to store data.  This board supports RTOS and operation at 80MHz to 160 MHz adjustable clock frequency. Its high processing power with in-built Wi-Fi / Bluetooth makes it ideal for IoT applications.

GPS Module The  NEO-6MV2  is a  GPS  (Global Positioning System) module that is used for navigation and fetching the current location. This module provides its location on earth and gives its output which is the longitude and latitude of its current position.

16x2 i2c LCD Display A 16×2 LCD display is a liquid crystal display that can show 16 characters in each of its two rows, providing a total of 32 characters of information . It's commonly used to display alphanumeric information in various electronic devices

Thingspeak Iot Platform ThingSpeak is a cloud-based platform that helps you collect, store , analyze, and visualize data from devices that are connected to the internet. It's often used for prototyping and testing IoT systems. 

Working A GPS tracker using an ESP8266 works by receiving GPS location data from a dedicated GPS module (like a Neo-6M), processing that data on the ESP8266 microcontroller, and then transmitting the coordinates wirelessly via Wi-Fi to a server where the location can be accessed and visualized on a map, essentially using the ESP8266's Wi-Fi capabilities to send the GPS location information to the internet.  Here we using Thingspeak iot platform to Moniter the data.

Applications Personal tracking : Track family members children or aged people. Asset tracking : Track vehicles, cargo, or other assets Fleet management : Track vehicle maintenance, fuel usage, and driver behavior Vehicle security : Track a stolen vehicle to help recover it

Conclusion Car tracking is an essential application in the current period of time. The technology used in this project is quiet user friendly, as internet is easily available now a days.
