Grammar fairy tale:
Plural form of the noun
Magic Mosquito

Once upon a time there lived
a bear. He was often bored as
he was the only bear in the
forest. He had only
one toy – a cube “A”. So, he
had to play with his cube.

In the nearby forest there
lived another lonely
creature - a small mosquito
named “S-Z”. But our bear
was too proud to make
friends with the mosquito.

When the forest
king learned about
it, he got very
angry with the
bear.
“Don`t put on airs
because you are
big,” he said. “I will
give magical power
to the mosquito.
When you make
friends, a miracle
will happen.”

Soon the bear invited the
mosquito to visit him. And
the mosquito began to sing
joyfully “S-Z”. The bear
treated the guest to his
favourite honey.

As soon as the mosquito
flew to the bear, a miracle
happened ……
There were many bears

miracle.

Now the bears did not
need the cube “A”.
There were many of them
and they could play
together.

But there were other
lonely animals in the
forest which needed
the cube “A”.

When they invited the mosquito
to play, a miracle happened. They
increased in number. And the
mosquito was joyfully singing /s/
or /z/ or even /iz/.

singing now.

When there are many objects, we
always hear the mosquito singing
/s/, /z/ or /iz/ at the end of words.
So, thanks to the magic mosquito,
nobody in the forest felt
lonely any more.
And we will remember the rule:
