Introduction Graphic aids are two dimensional aids . These are related to writing, drawing, painting etc. These aids involve graphic presentation in the form of graphs, maps, charts etc.

Chalkboard Chalkboard or blackboard is slightly abrasive writing surface made of wood, cement, plastic etc. A chalkboard is oldest a. v. aid It helps teacher for explaining, illustrating and for giving notes to his students
Types of chalkboard Fixed chalk board Fixed in the wall facing the class and normally made of wood or concrete cement. Roller blackboard Made of thick canvas wrapped on a roller mostly used for teaching higher classes. Graphic Board It has graphic lines and is used for teaching mathematics, science and statistics
Other Board types Magnetic Board A board which enables teachers to make three-dimensional demonstrations with objects on vertical surface. Small magnets are used to hold suitable objects fixed wherever they are put on this vertical surface.

Line graph The free hand smooth line to various points can be drawn indicating variables The line may be straight or curved line.

Posters A posters attracts attention of the audience. The message on the posters should be short, simple and easy to understand and attractive in color. The life of poster is visually short and should be changed frequently.

Flash cards Flash cards are series of cards , which flashed class to bring idea. The size of the flash cards is approximately 10 inch X 12 inches or 22inches X 28 inch in each card is giving information regarding subject.

Flannel board Flannel board is a thick piece of cardboard or wooden board on which rough piece of flannel is stretched or fastened tightly with drawing pins. Pictures, drawings, photographs can be displayed on this board.
Bulletin Board Bulletin board can be used for both informational and educational purposes. It is simple device place either indoor or outdoor kept in suitable place. It is soft board, which hold pins or tags are most suitable. It can motivate, enrich learning, stimulates thought.
Cont.. Guidelines A Suggested placement of this board is to have one near the administrators’s office another near the library, conference hall, classroom etc. The appearance must be neat, orderly and attractive. The material should be changed frequently to encourage the audience.

Cartoon Meaning A cartoon is a humorous creature which gives a subtle message. In a cartoon , the features of objects and people are exaggerated along with generally recognized symbols. Uses: Attracts attention of learners Helps in conveying information efficiently Stimulates interest in learners.
Maps A graphic representation of the earth’s surface or portions of it is termed as maps. These are flat representations of the earth’s surface, which convey the information by means of lines, symbols, words and colors.
