TOOLS FOR VERIFICATION where evidence comes in. the information used to support a claim, either factual or option-based. But not all evidence is create equal. These are the common types:

SELF - EVIDENCE - A fact that is clearly true and easy for most people to agree with observe. It does not require proof or explanation to be understood and accepted as true. Example: the sky is blue during the day. or the fire is hot. triangles have three sides . ( a fact that everyone can agree, or that is truthful. )

ANECDOTAL EVIDENCE - A personal story or experience used to support a claim. it may be true for one person but not for everyone. anecdotal evidence is information based on personal stories, individual experiences, or isolated observations, rather than systematic, verifiable research. EXAMPLE My brother is the best I have a dog pet and they are cutest ( an opinion which the person perceived based on what he saw or believed, a personal opinion )

ARGUMENT FROM AUTHORITY A claim or supported by the opinion of an expert or respected person. A form of argument that uses the opinion of an authority figure as evidence for a conclusion. EXAMPLE My doctor told me this specific diet is the only way to live, so it must be true ( this uses the opinion of an expert or respected person)

EMPIRCAL EVIDENCE Proof based on research, studies, or data. This is the strongest kind of evidence. Evidence examples include physical objects like a murder weapon, forensic evidence such as DNA or fingerprints, documentary evidence like contracts or emails, digital evidence from computers or phones, and testimony form witness or experts. EXAMPLE The police confirmed that the guy stole pewee’s wallet by leaving finger prints on the touched phone screen. (this is based on research and data)

By understanding different types of evidence, we can critically evaluate the information we encounter and make informed decisions.

REMEMBER: FACTS require strong, and verifiable evidence especially empirical evidence.

REMEMBER: OIPINIONS can be supported by various types of evidence ( like anecdotal or authority ), but should be recognized as personal view points.
