Purposes to be acheived : It should be formulated on the basis of needs and should be communicated to all who are concerned. Functions to be served : After finalizing the purposes or objectives, the next step is to determine the specific functions. Allocation of responsibility and authority : Establish clear cut line of authority will help every one to distinguish his duties from those of others. Appraisal of program : Appropriate measures should be taken to rectify any noted defects in order to keep the program more student friendly. BASIC CONCEPTS OF GUIDANCE

According to Hollis and Hollie ; The dignity of individual is supreme. Each individual is different from every other individual. Primary concern of the guidance is the individual in his social setting. The attitudes and personal perceptions of individual are on the basis on he acts. The individual generally acts to enhance his perceived self. The individual has the innate ability to learn and can be helped to make choices that will lead to self direction consistent with social improvement. The individual needs continuous guidance process from early childhood through adult hood.
