Community Vision Vision Statement : describes the community’s collective aspirations for the Village’s future and provides a unifying direction for the Plan Vision Principles: Frames the development of more specific actions and policies that will be undertaken over the next decade The Community Vision is meant to be referred to consistently especially when considering new developments or when new opportunities arise The Community Vision is shaped by input from the Village, residents, and other community members
Vision Statement Highland Hills is a small community with big impact . It is a resilient and united community that honors its past , prioritizes its people , and embraces its future .
Vision Principles Expand the tax base and foster economic growth Maintain safe and attractive streets that support active transportation Preserve and maintain quality housing options Enhance and promote Highland Hill’s image while maintaining its v illage c haracter Foster community pride and community connections Strengthen strategic partnerships and collaborations Enhance access to quality services, amenities and recreational opportunities Protect environmental assets and encourage sustainable development
Place-Based Recommendations Place-Based Recommendations are prioritized along Focus Corridors & Areas. They are identified as important or needing improvement from Project Team, stakeholder, and community feedback, Current Conditions Analysis, and previous plans. These areas have the most potential for change and impact . They can help shape the future land use map and inform zoning changes in the future.
