Holy Book Timeline: Bible and Quran

Scholars want to know exactly how close the words we read today match the words that were written by the original authors. The Bible, composed of 66 separate books which together express the heart of God as inspired by the Holy Spirit on various men at various time periods, has been repeated scrutinized and compared to many archaeological texts, and today's versions are found to be nearly perfect. The Quran was written by one man in Arabic and still remains in Arabic. As such, it is considered unchanged. However, what historical records are available reveal that it has undergone disputes and edits, even before Muhammad died.
