Leviticus 20:9 nkjv 9  ‘For everyone who curses his father or his mother shall surely be put to death. He has cursed his father or his mother. His blood  shall be  upon him.

Ephesians 6:1 nkjv 1 Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right.  Listen to them…submit to them…follow their instructions…and you respect, honor, and reverence them. Not just once a year…not just when you want too…but when you are young.

Proverbs 1:8 niv 8  Listen, my son, to your father’s instruction, and do not forsake your mother’s teaching . When you leave home, honor your mother by taking her teachings with you ! The writer of Proverbs is talking about that the stage of HER life when the nest is beginning to empty.

Proverbs 23:22 niv 22  Listen to your father, who gave you life, and do not despise your mother when she is old. The writer is referring to the point in your life when your children are ready to leave home , getting married and having children of their own. The writer is referring to the stage of your mother's life where her face may be wrinkled and her hair white.

II Timothy 1:5 niv 5  I am reminded of your sincere faith, which first lived in your grandmother Lois and in your mother Eunice and, I am persuaded, now lives in you also. We respect and honor her by being what she has taught us to be. Things like honest, kind, gentle, trustworthy, compassionate, strong, courageous, hard working, and most importantly, obedient to God.
