Hot and Cold desert

Area of Sahara desert Area=9,400,000 km² covers= 11 continents Not just a sandy area, but also covered with rocky plateaus and gravel plains. Rocky areas are as high as 2500 meters in some places.

Climate Climate Hot and dry, moisture evaporates very fast. Rainy season is of a short duration. Day temperature may be as high as 50 . c. Bare sand and rocks absorb heat much faster making the surroundings hot too. It experiences extreme climate with nights being cooler to the extent of freezing in some areas with temp drooping down to 0 . C.

Flora and Fauna Flora and Fauna are also found there. Flora:- Cactus, date palms and acacia are main types of vegetation. Some green areas called oisis where date palms grow. Fauna:- Animals :- Camels, hyenas, jackals, foxes , Scorpios, Snakes, Lizards, are mainly found.

People People grow palms, rice, wheat, barley; Egyptian cotton is very famous all round the world.

This is coldest desert lies in eastern side of Jammu and Kashmir. Area of Ladakh desert

Climate In summers-Temperature during the day is slightly above 0 ° Celsius, while at night it is -30 °. In winters- Temperature drops down to as low as -40 ° for most of the time

Flora and Fauna Flora- Ladakh is an extremely cold and dry desert with rocky and uneven terrain. The harsh climate and low temperatures limit the number and type of vegetation found here. There are certain narrow valleys in the region which are quite fertile. Here, certain plants and agricultural crops are grown. Fauna- The population density of the snow leopards in the park amounts to 200. The probability if spotting snow leopard in the area of Rumbak catchment. Some other species spotted in the national park are Shapus , Brown Bear, Tibetan Wolf, Red Fox, Himalayan Mouse Hare, Mountain Weaseletc .

People In ladakh most of people believe in Buddhist. The richness of their culture can be seen reflected in the food, festivals, architecture, celebrations etc .
