How to Flush the Radiator of the Car

Components moving and rubbing together in a car and generate heat.

Coolant gets rid of the heat by circulating through the radiator.

Radiator takes the heat out of the coolant and blows it by a fan.

Coolant flush on the radiator removes the sediments of the cooling system.

Following points define the way to flush the radiator of a car.

Time to flush

Radiator is supposed to flush in every 5 years or 10,000 miles.

Radiator flushing depends on the driving habits and leads to 30,000 miles.

Drain the coolant

Old coolant needs to drain from the radiator of the car.

Cool down the engine and don’t drive it before 30 minutes of flushing.

Add cleaner

Remove old coolant and add radiator cleaner to the radiator reservoir.

After cleaner, add distilled water to a reservoir for cleaning sediments.

Drain cleaning fluid

Drain all the cleaning fluid and distilled water from the radiator.

Flush the cooling system with regular tap water and drain tap water.

Add new coolant

Finally, add new coolant to the radiator reservoir of below amount:- Half gallon of antifreeze Half gallon of distilled water

Start the car and let the coolant run through the engine for 15 minutes.

Radiator flush depends on the age, make and model of the car.

Average amount of coolant requires in a car is about 4 gallons.
