How to Manage Buy To Resupply in Odoo 17

Introduction Enterpr ise In this slide, we'll explore how to set up Buy to resupply in Odoo 17 Inventory. This will help us manage our stock effectively, track inventory levels, and streamline warehouse operations. The main intent of the "Buy to Resupply" method for Odoo inventory management systems is to streamline and automate the purchase procedure. Its major goal is to guarantee that a company keeps the right amount of inventory on hand to satisfy consumer demand without having to pay the expenses and losses related to overstocking.

Enterprise Buy To Resupply A company can have multiple warehouses. The products from one warehouse can be resupplied from another one. Odoo facilitates with an option to resupply goods and raw materials from other warehouses. This will be done when goods are not available in one warehouse. This process is pretty easy with the odoo inventory module. Some configuration must be done to do so.

Enterprise Enable multi-step routing and multiple warehouse option in setting. This setting also helps us to manage different routes and locations in our warehouse. Go to Inventory ‣ Configuration ‣Multi-Step Routes and click Save.

Enterprise Now g o to Inventory ‣ Configuration ‣ Warehouses. Different warehouses, like Warehouse A, Warehouse B, and Warehouse C, can be created here. In the event that a consumer places an order, we must retrieve the product from Warehouse B if it isn't in Warehouse A, and from Warehouse C if it isn't in Warehouse B. We must buy the thing and keep it in C if it is not available in C.

Enterprise Consider a situation where the ‘Warehouse A’, runs short of raw materials. So, we need to restock commodities from the primary warehouse Warehouse B to Warehouse A. For that, users need to enable some features inside Warehouse A.

Enterprise Select the Warehouse A from the Warehouses window. Products are delivered to y our warehouse after they are bought by enabling the Buy to Resupply option. We can decide where to resupply raw materials from the Resupply From option. Pick up y our resupply warehouse from here, and we selected Warehouse B, as portrayed in the screenshot below.

Enterprise Users need to create a route for resupplying products in a company. After configuring which warehouse(s) to resupply from, a new route is now available on all product forms. The new route appears as ‘Warehouse A: Supply Product from Warehouse B’.

Enterprise If product is not available in Warehouse B, restock it from warehouse C.

Enterprise Make sure that the supply method of rule of the route created for resupply is ‘Take From Stock, if unavailable, Trigger Another Rule’.

Enterprise Setting Up Advanced Routing for Products: Go to Sales ‣ Products . pick up any product and Click on the Inventory tab to analyze the Routes field inside the Operations section. Enable the routes Buy, Replenish on Order (MTO) and the supply routes as in the following screenshot.

Enterprise Vendor Details on Product Form Designate a proper vendor for the product from the ‘Purchase’ tab of product form as follows

Enterprise Create Sale Order: Navigate to Sale ‣ Order ‣ Quotation . Create a new quotation for the product and select the appropriate warehouse under the 'More Info' tab.

Enterprise As the order is confirmed, odoo will create Delivery Order with 5 transfers and a purchase order.

Enterprise All delivery order transfers are waiting for another operation as the insufficient quantity of product.

Enterprise First, confirm the purchase order and proceed to validate the transfer. This action will set the initial delivery transfer to a 'Ready' state. Ensure all transfers are validated to achieve a consistent 'Done' state.
