3. What is an informal letter? An informal letter, also referred to as a friendly letter, is a personal letter written to friends or relatives.

4. We’ll discuss the following elements: The Heading The Greeting The Body The Closing The Signature

5. 1. Heading House no 445 main street, Block-B, Islamabad February 2 nd ,2017 The heading of a letter should contain the return address, which include the street address on one line, followed by the city. Live a line and write the date

6. 2. Greeting Dear Father,--------- greeting The greeting means “hello” Greeting are capitalized. A comma follows the greeting.

7. 3. Body The body of the letter has three main paragraphs. the body of the letter contains the main text or message. Each paragraph should be indented

8. 4. Closing Yours loving son,-------closing The closing means “good-bye”. The first word of the closing begins with a capital letter. A comma follows the closing

9. 5. Signature The signature tells who wrote the letter, means the name itself enough.

In fact, I was busy in the preparation of my elder brother’s marriage. It will come off on the 25 th of the next month. I and my family invite you whole heartedly to attend this function. I will send you an invitation card very soon. It will be an occasion of great fun and joy for every one. You will be able to meet some of your old friends. The Barat will leave for “Holiday Inn” at 7 pm. The Walima will be held in the same hotel next day. We have also decided to celebrate the function of Mehndi in a unique way. We shall sing songs and dance on some of the famous tunes. Don’t forget to bring your movie camera with you. 11. Points to Remember Write your address on the right hand side of the page. Leave a line and write the date underneath your address. Leave a line and write the salutation and put a comma after that ----------- e.g Dear Ayesha. An informal letter should have at least three paragraphs i.e. the introduction, the body and the conclusion End your letter with a subscription and signature.
