Hue, Saturation and Value(HSV) defines a type of color space. similar to modern RGB and CMYK models describes colors in terms of their shade(saturation or amount of gray) and their brightness(value or luminance). may be depicted as a cone or cylinder. the additive primary and secondary colors— red, yellow ,green, cyan ,blue and magenta ---and linear mixture between adjacent pairs of them. three componens : Hue Saturation value

In HSV, hue represents color. In this model, hue is an angle from 0 degrees to 360 degrees. Hue Angle Color 0-60 Red 60-120 Yellow 120-180 Green 180-240 Cyan 240-300 Blue 300-360 Magenta

Indicates the range of grey in color space. Ranges from 0 to 100% or sometimes from 0-1. For value ‘0’, the color is grey and the value ‘1’, the color is primary color. A fades color is due to a lower saturation level, which means the color contains more grey. Saturation

Value works in conjunction with saturation. describes the brightness or intensity of the color from 0% to 100%. Value is ‘0’ the color space will be totally black. with the increase in the value, the color space brightness up and shows various colors.

Application of HSV The HSV color space is widely used to generate high quality computer graphics. or is used to select various different colors needed for a particular picture. An HSV color wheel is used to select the desired color. A user can select the particular color needed for the picture from the color wheel. Used in color pickers, image editing software, image analysis, computer vision.
