Support programs for university spin-offs
EXIST Gründerstipendiumsupports the preparation of innovative technology-oriented and knowledge-based start-up projects for
students, graduates and scientists.
EXIST Forschungstransferpromotes both necessary development work to prove the technical feasibility of research-based start-up ideas
as well as necessary preparations for the start of the company.
GründungsoffensiveBiotechnologie(GO-Bio): With GO-Bio, start-up science teams from the life sciences are funded for a maximum of
seven years -up to four years before the foundation in the first funding phase and possibly three years after the foundation ina second
funding phase.
KMU Innovativ: Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are at the forefront of technological progress in many areas. With the
funding initiative KMU-innovativ, the BMBF supports cutting-edge research in German SMEs.
VIP+: The path from research to the market can be shorter and faster. This is where the BMBF funding measure "Validation of the
technological and social innovation potential of scientific research -VIP +" comes into play.

art infrastructure. Furthermore, BaseLaunchembeds startups deeply within the Basel region, one of Europe’s finest biotech
ecoysystems.
Johnson & Johnson Innovation has announced the location of its 10th JLABS in Beerse, Belgium, making this the first JLABS in Europe.
Called JLABS @ BE, the site will accommodate up to 30 life science start-ups focused on innovations across the entire healthcare
spectrum, including biotech, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, consumer and healthtechsectors.
Merckselects and supports early-stage start-ups to become ready for the market. Merck sees them as partners that shape the future
together with them. The Merck Accelerator Program of Spring 2018 began in March with new start-ups moving into the new Innovation
Centerin Darmstadt, Germany. Fields of interest: Healthcare, Life Science, Performance Materials and more.
Grants4Appswas founded in 2013 in Berlin initially giving out grants to innovative healthcare apps (hence the name Grants4Apps), it
fast forward to 2018 and beyond, where it is now a global program dedicated to help innovative health & care startupsgrow and enable
positive disruption and progress within the digital health & care universe.
The German Co-Location Centerof EIT Health is supporting German and Swiss EIT Health partners and provides support, skills and
services for startupsand SMEs to boost their business idea.
